How do you get into kiting competitions? Anyone know of some close to maryland, or at least on the east shore?

You really (really) need to specify what kind of competition. Different types have different governing bodies. Buggy? Landboard? Water? Etc. Etc.
Etc.

You tell somebody they ride like they wear a pink skirt!
Next time they see you, the competition is on!
The only semi formal races I know of are NAPKRA races. It is the buggy racing org. . If you don't have a chapter near you then you may want to work on
starting one up.
Nothing even semi formal for ATB that I know of. Snowkite events usually have races open to all but I don't think they areexactly formal titles?
On the water is another story. Not sure about how it works in your area.

It sounds like there's not many. I was thinking about any type of competition on any medium, but I guess our sport is just not popular enough yet!

NAPKRA is the closest thing we have .
This is why I think it's important for us to join it even if we need to start a chapter for the area. Even if you don't get any races off.
While NAPKRA is for buggy I know they are a great bunch that would be open to having something like ATB competitions be part of the umbrella ? The
trick is to get organized in the 1st place.

I know there are some down in Fl and the gulf area, and especially in other countries but not around here.
