NABX Brothern, We need your positive thoughts and or prays for Speedy as he was in a kite accident in the Denver area.He will be ok but is busted up a
bit. I picked up on this from a AKA email . Didn't see anything posted so I thought. those that meet or know him from the NABX would keep him in your
thoughts while he heals .

I am assuming this is the same individual in the message pasted below? Very sorry to hear about this accident, seems like there have been too many
lately.
Hello Region 7
I wanted to pass this along to the region. Quite a few people have had contact with Blake and I though you would like to wish him luck.
This hits close to home and it has been the 2nd serious accident in the last few weeks. Be careful out there.

I knew you'd all want to know about this. Its been a scary year.

Subject: Prayers for Blake, Please!
Good morning to you all,
As some of you know, & many of you don't....My Blake was in a serious
kiting accident on a reservoir in the Denver area, late Wed. afternoon.
He was air-medivact to Swedish Medical Center in Denver. He's a VERY
lucky young man! First of all, he has his "rock" Jaime!!! He was wearing
a helmet (Thank GOD), & angles on the lake got to him w/in the first few
minutes!
He was picked up out of the lake, hit a building, was drug thru a
parking lot, then hit a tree! He has a broken pelvis...in several
places, a large puncture wound on his right buttock, & several damaged
vertebrae. He has had 2 surgeries to clean, dress, pack, & watch for
infection in the wound on his butt. They've done 3 CT scans to check for
back, head & neck damage! They still plan to take him back to surgery on
Mon. to put pins/screws in the pelvis. He's been alert, never lost
consciousness, & has had his dumb scense of hummor throughout. No
internal organs were damaged....except a bruised rt. kidney, & a small
bruise n his right lung. He's been fitted for a back brace, & will
probably be in it for 3-6 months. The good news is sooooo much! He WILL
be OK!!!!!
I went up as soon as I got the call from Jaime Wed. PM. I came home last
nite to shower, sleep in my own bed, & gather a few things to go back &
spend several more days. Thanks to my nephew Houston, I was able to get
home on no sleep since Tues. nite! We'll be on the road again shortly.
Most of you know my cell#. I can't have it on in a lot of places in the
hosp., however, Jaime & I do ck our phone several times a day, so, leave
a mgs & I'll call you back.
There's a web site if you go into Swedish Medical Center.com you can go
in to send patient e-mail. They print it out & get it to him. Just put
it to: Blake Pelton Rm. # 4402. My sister-in-law figured this out & he's
already gotten some mail thanks to Aunt Judy!!!
Gotta get this out to you all & get back up to see my baby boy! My cell
# is 719-232-xxxx
Please send up a little prayer for my Blakers, for a speedy & 100%
recovery!
Thanks & love to you all, Sally

Dave
Hello & good morning to you all, Wanted to get the progress report out to you all.....thank GOD for blanket e-mail!
I went back to Denver to spend last evening w/Blake (he said we had a movie date), to find MUCH improvement!!! He could sit up in his bed, put his
back brace on (alone!), & with a walker, got to a chair. OK....Jaime helped him a little, but what an improvement from when I left him Monday
evening at 9:30!!! Jaime's helping him soooo much, to become independent! She's the best! Blake nor I could get thru this w/out her!
Your prayers are working, all the positive energy he's getting, the e-mails warm his heart (his words, not mine)! Phone calls, cards, & all his
visitors are all soooo much appreciated! I go thru his e-mails each time I'm there. His room is filling up w/them! I re-read some to him last nite. He
said, "Mom, they warm me right here," as he patted his heart. "I want to keep them forever!" We'll put them in a binder in order of their dates so he
can read them over & over again!
Jaime's bound & determined to have him home by Sat. the 18th! That's our plan. I'll go back up either Fri. evening or Sat. AM. I want to help them
get him settled back in, help her w/some house work, maybe do some cooking. We have to figure out where in their house he'll be most comfy.
They have stairs everywhere!!! He sooo can't wait to see his own bed! If we need furniture moved, we'll recruit some of his kite buddies to come help.
Blake started PT on Tues. & has taken several short trips down the hall. He's getting so much stronger, so fast! He's gonna be 100% sooner than we
all know! Thanks to you all! Keep up the good work in getting my boy healed up & back on his feet! His motto is "Pain is only temporary, but
glory's forever, so do it!!!" He added the "so do it" part yesterday! Meaning whatever it takes to get the job done....."do it!!!" It's on his white
board in his room! I added last nite, "what is.....IS!"Regardless how he got there, now we've got the get him back! And don't think he won't ever
board again! He'll be on the snow by Christmas! Mark my word! If we took that away form him, we may as well rip his very soul right out of him! My
sister Barb never taught him to NOT get back on his
horse, if he ever fell off!!! Thanks, "Barbie Doll!"
I'd better get off to two more days of work, so I can get back to Denver & be with my kids. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for all the replies
back to me! You all warm MY heart. I found out last nite from Jaime, that my letters are being posted on the internet....from who, I'm not quite sure.
But, that's fine! Because my info is correct....there's been other info that's just here-say, blow out of proportion, & speculation. So,
whoever's posting mine.....THANK YOU! I have my
ideas!
Love & thanks to you all,
Sally
