Team xxtreme (NL) will be unleashed at NABX and no sooner. :wee:Kamikuza - 20-3-2010 at 07:19 PM
Cringe ... y'all can see why I don't want to go home? Apart from the beach that is ...Bladerunner - 20-3-2010 at 07:39 PM
I see they made room for Hooj Ballz under that cover . From what I have
seen that is what it takes! ripsessionkites - 20-3-2010 at 07:51 PM
and less brain cells too. There aint much between that dutch helmet of Faster Arie.markite - 20-3-2010 at 08:13 PM

that's just the tonneau cover over the cooler to keep the beer cold.WELDNGOD - 20-3-2010 at 08:49 PM
mmm.. beerflexiblade - 20-3-2010 at 09:49 PM
That thing looks up to the task - nice low center of gravity, thin wheels to reduce drag along with the design of the front of the buggy. Seems like
the pilot has enough of the crazy to make a serious bid for the record.macboy - 20-3-2010 at 11:48 PM
Wow. What more to say?
(Other than I hope this isn't the "if things work out we may even have some new something or other to treat you all to". I was really hoping and
praying for the Phantom 2's arrival ; )ripsessionkites - 21-3-2010 at 05:23 AM
i have a pic of the chassis, totally different. it does come apart in pieces for easy transport. its rumored to be very light as well.
we will see in timesilvereaglekiter - 21-3-2010 at 05:31 AM
am I the only one who cant see the vid I just get the green striped bar at the
bottomdeanaoxo - 21-3-2010 at 05:36 AM
don't worry, i can't see it either!
rocfighter - 21-3-2010 at 05:37 AM
I hope there aren't any ripples in the salt. That cowl sits really low.deanaoxo - 21-3-2010 at 06:50 AM
What salt?
Where??
Glad we don't buggy on salt!rocfighter - 21-3-2010 at 06:59 AM
I thought they said they were testing it on the salt flats? I'll look again.Bladerunner - 21-3-2010 at 08:48 AM
It just takes forever to download. I think I pressed play at some point but it was just dog slow . Worth the wait though!BeamerBob - 21-3-2010 at 08:50 AM
Gurney did say "salt flat" when describing the surface of the lake bed. But then later says it is dried mud. Just a slip of the tongue I guess.rocfighter - 21-3-2010 at 10:04 AM
Yup just a slip. I caught it when I watched it again. It does look cool though. I say run it at the flats. You have miles of flat straight salt to get
up speed. And when the wind blows at any speed they do not race.acampbell - 21-3-2010 at 10:09 AM
Yeah, he then described it as "concrete with sand on it". He'll be in for a surprise! Hope the front wheel is big.
Am I the only one to think that that's the ugliest buggy they have seen? Kind of looks like a giant... nevermind.
I wish them luck though and wish I could be there to see it.ripsessionkites - 21-3-2010 at 10:28 AM

yep Ruudje and I were laughing all night about it. the cone concept makes sense but its still a little too low. the torso of the rider is the most
drag.
in the end IMO its going to be kite vs hooj ballz.acampbell - 21-3-2010 at 10:42 AM
Ya know if they put black fairings over those tall rear wheels it would like an SR-71 Blackbird, kiddie ride version. Better than my other image...lad - 21-3-2010 at 10:56 AM
"...Better than my other image..."
?
Ozzy - 22-3-2010 at 01:04 AM
It is looking great and the looks are fast, from a aerodynamic point of view, I think that this is the way to do it,......and hoojz ballocs :singing:
, not to forget.....
Looking forward to meet them nect week !.
see ya'll the 28th under the Hanging tree bar in Primm !......:karate::karate::karate:lunchbox - 22-3-2010 at 08:24 AM
I often wondered if it was possible for a kite powered vehicle to go faster than a landsailer. The exciting part for me is that with a vehicle like
this, I think it might be possible...BeamerBob - 22-3-2010 at 08:49 AM

You know, when you mentioned the black fairings on the rear wheels it solidified your first image for me. Just imagine how it would look from above.
:shocked2:
Seriously, I'm concerned about the leverage the wind is going to have on the side of that fairing. I guess when it all gets going, most of the wind
will be hitting in front. Part of me wants to see this thing zipping along and the other side of me wants the winds to be more sane so I don't have
to wear my own pink skirt. I don't look that great in pink..... Or a skirt for that matter.geokite - 22-3-2010 at 09:20 AM
Last years wind was exhausting. Car rocked all night long (from the wind...).
For those of us going, it is surreal to think of how different our lives will be in a week.
Prepare for wind, dead calm, everything inbetween, in regard to clothes, kites, kite setup, attitude.macboy - 22-3-2010 at 09:34 AM
My skirt gets a little tighter every time I hear HOW MUCH wind there was last year ; )
