It's the tail end of the ice season around my parts. Wind was light today - averaging in the 5-6mph mark. Still managed to get just over 36mph on
the nice grippy ice with a 10m Yakuza. Might be my last day on local ice, it is not likely to get below freezing tonight, it is still safe,... but I
shouldn't have mentioned the 4 dudes in Ontario that went through to the wife at Supper time.

I set the GPS up for mph instead of km/h thinking that maybe Rachel at Stormboarding has a low wind speed prize for this week... not likely.
I'll put up a little light wind big kite vid later

WolfWolfee - 20-3-2010 at 11:34 PM
we got wicked winds up my way, 20 mph all day and still blowing tonight.
PrairieWind - 21-3-2010 at 12:17 AM
I guess it blows when you are injured.
I wasn't complaining about a lack of wind. If I'd pulled a macboy and left the big kite at home then I'd have been out of a session.

Nice. At a certian point I thought, He has to turn eventually. Alberta lakes aren't THAT big !
Hardrock - 21-3-2010 at 07:43 AM
WOW, that is unreal. I don't see how the kite doesn't pull you towards it on that ice.
Hard to believe you can carve against it with ski's.
Really Really nice.

Good show. Music fit well. What did ya use to film ?
PrairieWind - 21-3-2010 at 12:01 PM
The ice is nice and grippy this time of year - a nice texture to it. No need to struggle to hold an edge that is for sure. It was filmed with a
cheapo headcam - a Drift Innovation X170 that I got off of ebay for a song. It just clips on the goggle strap - there are other mounts included but I
like the simplicity of the google strap mount. Once I figure out the editing thing it won't look like it takes forever to do a turn. I wish that the
flock of seagulls that went past at one point were while the camera was on,... that is the true sign that the season is coming to a close.

.....pulled a Macboy.......
Oh geez. I gotta shake that one ; )
What a nice place to play PW! I haven't snowkited on handles in a long time...I should make a point to do that next winter. I still remember the
feeling of the apparent wind building in the Brooza last time I did. Quite an neat feeling.

It is the true end of the ice season here in Southern Alberta. It was +17c today. It was below freezing last night so the ice was good in the
morning. It won't be long now till it is water... not ice. The wife got a nice session in today. It was gusty and very windy so her Jojo 1.5 was
the order of the day. Happy wife, happy life.

The baby was in a backpack device watching mommy rip today. A couple of weeks ago she was in the super deluxe sled checking out the action...
