a good friend of mine was set to retire from the army (put in his twenty years) and 3 months before his set date, he got stop-lossed and got sent back
overseas... sucky day 
but it comes with the territory i guess...
this was last spring
Well he was supposed to be over there till july, (16 month i think) but he showed up at work today!! Man, i was glad to see him back! I actually met
him back when i worked in produce... always a chill guy! But now hes got a new bike, and i've got another ridin' buddy!
Just awesome to know he made it back in one piece... he seems a little on edge, but i think he'll mellow out with time... Political views aside,
war/service is a rough profession... just the few stories he rattled off, man, i'm glad i never went in... and i have the utmost respect for those who
do it...
anyway, i'm happy, the wind is blowin (I'm gonna go fly at lunch and after work 
) and my buddy is back in town!!

good news!
I have a similar story. my little brother-in-law just got back home today. It feels like a big relief that he is home safe. The bad news is he may
have to go back. I'm not sure one way or the other.
