Missing Ozone Razor (PLEASE HELP)

Bucky - 28-3-2010 at 03:19 PM

Sometime over the last couple of days someone broke into my roof rack and stole my 8.5m Ozone Razor!! Somewhere around the Astoria/Seaside area. I am sooo bummed!

Please!!! If you live anywhere in the Northwest (Oregon coast) And you see some newb (I can't imagine any of my fellow kiters stooping so low) trying to fly it, Call me.... Get his License #..... Call the police.... Watch him break his neck with it then take it...... Do something!!!!! I'm offering a $125.00 reward to anyone that helps me get it back...

It's easy to spot... It's bright yellow with bright red in the standard Ozone pattern (try to upload a photo).

My home number is: (503) 861-0255 My email is: "amyjar1@msn.com"

Please help! It's my best kite, and I'm not in any financial shape to be able to afford a replacement right now.

Sincerely, James "Bucky" Pottschmidt

Hey man post this in the lost/stolen section. It will get attention there too.
Sorry to hear about this happening.

O.K. so now I've upped the reward to $200.00! I'm kinda desperate, and unfortunately that's about all the extra money I can spare right now. All you N.W. kiters out there, if you spot a bright yellow and red 8.5m Razor suddenly showing up in your kiting area, call me! (number above) I'll give you some particulars that would help positively identify it.

p.s. If you see someone on Sunset Beach flying the slightly smaller version (5.5m)... Please don't kick his a$$. That person is ME!

Bucky, I will keep my eyes open down here in Newport. And if I find it, keep the cash man, I'll settle for a beer at SOBB. :)

Meant to include that in my post as well. Been watching craigslist, but nothing so far.

FOUND!!!!!!!

After 2 weeks, I figured there was no hope.... It was a goner.....

But then.............

Yes there is a God!!!!
It was found on the side of the road in Astoria! The fellow (a kitesurfer) recognized the pile of bright yellow and red fabric and knew someone probably was searching for it. He put an ad. in the local paper saying he found a traction kite and could the owner call to describe it in detail and claim it. (I guess kiters are just cool people) Got my kite back!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis. If your reading this........ YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - what a great ending to the story! Man we kiters rock.

I bet the 8.5 meters worth of ripstop would roll up to a perfect pillow size. Beats sitting in the car ; )

That's great Bucky. Glad the kite is back home.
