ooo sexy. did you have to buy new tires for the rear or those the middy stretched out?
Edit; nevermind you posted the last pic while I was typing.

To post more than one pic in a post you have to upload them to an image hosting site like tinypic.com then use the IMG code.

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 09:58 AM

new tires, Carlisle's

m9.JPG - 28kB

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 10:03 AM

i wanted to put eight's all around but i ran into some issues (nothing is ever as easy as you think it's gonna be).
but i actually like the midi in the front, kinda has a hot rod look. it's stable as all hell, but that's just coasting down the culdesac. yet to be tried under power...

@Willard- how the hell do you transport this thing...?

WIllardTheGrey - 3-4-2010 at 10:08 AM

It fits in my truck perfect.

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 10:10 AM

oooh truck envy.... damn you dont even have to break it down, i'm jealous!!:ticking:

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 10:14 AM

even when i break this down, the tires alone take up most of the cargo area in my station wagon.

kteguru - 3-4-2010 at 10:21 AM

Hey Cheezy. The new buggy looks great! Hope to see you at Wildwood with it next month. Any chance I could take it for a spin :wee::wee:

mougl - 3-4-2010 at 10:29 AM

:wee:

Nice ride!!!

Can't stop drooling! Good thing my cell has insurance against water damage

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 11:28 AM

thanks everybody...
Dean of course you can put it through its paces, that's like having it blessed by the Pope!!!:wee:

kteguru - 3-4-2010 at 03:32 PM

Can't wait to give it a spin:wee:. Love the wide low profile dragster tires on the back:thumbup:. I'll have to bring a belt for it to do some extended testing ;-)

bobalooie57 - 3-4-2010 at 03:36 PM

Sweet! That sure looks like it will give a smooooooth ride. We will all have to wear shades just to look at her as you flash by! Nice ride!

Todd - 3-4-2010 at 04:43 PM

That thing looks sweet! I like how the wheels and tires worked out for you. I'm going to drop some PSI on my to try some things out on comfort levels, the are a little stiff right now but then again there still new.

How do you transport it? Talk to this guy...
WELDNGOD

Just some ideas

BigMikesKites - 3-4-2010 at 06:46 PM

The pictures of the red car are pretty ingenious. I'm thinking by the time you hit this stage, its time for a small trailer.

cheezycheese - 3-4-2010 at 07:26 PM

@ Willard - is that a backrest on your Monster ? if so, how did you make it...?

Kamikuza - 3-4-2010 at 07:37 PM

Very nice!

popeyethewelder - 3-4-2010 at 11:23 PM

very nice..is this a production buggy or a home made one, I can see many Parastorm influences in there

It's an old verson of one of these

I have a couple of kayaks so its what was available. Dosn't work too well however.

But browsing some very outdated sites brings up this description.

Riding high speeds is no problem for this buggy and with it's suspension in the front and rear, it gives the ability to drive all over different kinds of terrain without losing grip or speed.

Extra reinforced tubes make it super strong and gives a solid 'feel' specially when riding at high speeds.

Fully adjustable suspension system in the front and rear giving the rear different settings according to the terrain.

High side frames and comfortable seat.

Removeable seat padding / back support.<< Wonder where I can find one?

Double bolt clamp system for increased rigidity.

Adjustable footpeg settings.

Axle Width: 140CM

Seat: Coated

Frame Weight: 18.5 Kilo

Wheel Size: 16/6.50-8"

Total Weight: 30Kg

Front Forks: Wide

Rear Bolts 15MM

cheezycheese - 4-4-2010 at 04:01 AM

i was thinking to make a backrest from keeclamps and a piece of pipe like BeamerBob has on his flexi. But wait speaking of 'Flexi' wait'll you guys see the custom fork that "FlexiBlade" has made for me. Pics this week....

You forgot to close that tag. Don't forget the slash :D.

cheezycheese - 6-4-2010 at 01:27 PM

thanks Maven, i get by with a little help from my friends...(where did i hear that before... )

flexiblade - 6-4-2010 at 06:41 PM

Good to see everything mounted up great - Now it's all a matter of getting it down to a beach and beating the crap out of it. Have fun.

bobalooie57 - 7-4-2010 at 07:30 AM

hey cheezy, didn't you like the suspension front end? (and will it bolt on to a PL Comp Std?) We could make a deal if you are willing, and I can use it!! Bob
edit: gotta love those beefy footrests/stirrups on your new front end. I hate it when my feet bounce off the pegs!

Maven454 - 7-4-2010 at 07:34 AM

I'm betting that he simply switched it so that he could use the bigfoot on the front.

cheezycheese - 7-4-2010 at 07:42 AM

Yeah that's all. I like em both, they both ride very different from each other. :wee:

bobalooie57 - 7-4-2010 at 08:30 AM

speed and comfort!!! :bouncy:

kteguru - 7-4-2010 at 10:44 AM

Hope you'll be bringing both front ends and both sets of wheels to WW:wee:

Todd - 7-4-2010 at 10:48 AM

Definitely bring both fronts; I'd like to take a look at the suspension setup.

cheezycheese - 7-4-2010 at 04:34 PM

This my friends is exactly why I was thinking of renting an RV. there is no way I will fit all this stuff in my wagon...:dunno::dunno:
Hopefully Weldngod can make me a
rack...

WELDNGOD - 8-4-2010 at 03:39 PM

It is already finished w/ the exception of the third bearing location . I need to get w/ you on this

WELDNGOD - 8-4-2010 at 03:42 PM

this one is yours dude. :bigok:

WELDNGOD - 8-4-2010 at 03:49 PM

I had alot of spare time today, waiting on parts to put my big project together with. Hurry up and wait. So I made myself useful w/ some 309L and carbon steel. So in essence I was doing an update to my certification for stainless/carbon steel alloy.

cheezycheese - 8-4-2010 at 03:51 PM

You are the MAN... excuse me the WELDNGOD!!!

WELDNGOD - 8-4-2010 at 03:56 PM

you are gonna need a 2 inch reciever hitch for your ride. But if all they will install is a1-1/4 inch reciever, then you will need an adapter. Northern Tool has all kinds of adapters for trailer hitches, that is where I would look for one if ya need it.

WELDNGOD - 8-4-2010 at 04:04 PM

all the welds ,even the carbon steel/ carbon steel joints were done w/ 309L ,which is an alloy just for welding steel to stainless. The 309L is WAY stronger than regular 7018 or 70S, so your welds are NOT gonna fail. You will tear the carbon steel like paper before the welds break.

flexiblade - 8-4-2010 at 06:59 PM

Very nice work - I like the notion of indestructible welds.

cheezycheese - 30-4-2010 at 12:41 PM

finally mounted... ready for WildWood....:singing:

hey chessey.
remember me?????
i want to try it to. i think your going to have to rent it out at WW. it looks like your going have people standing in line to try it. but if i get on it. i don`t think you`ll see it again.
i have somebody waiting down the beach in a pick up truck and i`ll be long gone. LOL
very nice ride you got there and i see your moving up in the buggy world.
it will be a shame to get it all full of sand. but i guess thats half the fun right?????

Todd - 30-4-2010 at 01:46 PM

Sweet work WG! Looks good Cheesy, are you still renting the RV or did I miss something.

WELDNGOD - 30-4-2010 at 03:49 PM

looks good except it needs a shim to make it sit up straight. Mine did the same thing until I shimmed it. I will bring one to WW for ya. It is almost MAY!!!!!!!

cheezycheese - 30-4-2010 at 03:58 PM

@Glenn- of course i remember you, you were the first one to help me out last year. Movin up buggy wise, wish my skills were movin up at the same rate as my purchases. Hopefully you can give me a few more pointers. :Ange09:

@Todd- no the RV plans got put on the back burner. was becoming a hassle, having to take a local route, parking during the day, Wife complaining about allll the money I'm spending...
you know, little things like that....:dunno:

anyways, looks like i'm set. HOOOOJ thanks to Flexiblade and WeldnGod for hooking me up
with a few custom pieces!!!

They see me rollin...

WELDNGOD - 30-4-2010 at 04:03 PM

anytime Bro'.

flexiblade - 30-4-2010 at 08:08 PM

Glad to be of help - hope they get real dirty in the next couple of weeks. Do make sure to rinse them with fresh water after getting them in the salty stuff.
