Well NABX was a good year for me again. On Wed march 31 I broke my previous top speed of 58 mph and hit 65.7mph in 30mph winds with a jojo rm+ 2.5 m
on 25m lines in my Libre Hardcore (no weights). I think next year I am going to need a weight set for my buggy so I can go even faster.
I had not buggied in almost a year and it is like riding a bike, you get right back into it.DAKITEZ - 5-4-2010 at 10:02 AM
good job!
It was blowing nasty on wed. hooj ballz to you for even going out in that.Bladerunner - 5-4-2010 at 10:14 AM
You must update Popeye!
Way to go Dagon ! Still in the top rung of speed runners even with so many moving up. BeamerBob - 5-4-2010 at 10:32 AM
Wow, that's awesome Dagon! I didn't know you hit such a high speed. I moved my top speed up by 10 mph to 45.1 but the lake surface was so different
to everything I've ever been on. My learning curve those 3 days was almost vertical. The buggy rolls so easily and the kites feed so much more from
apparent wind. I'll be happy to bust 50-55 next year with some smaller/higher performance kites. I want a couple speedy kites in the 2.5- 3.5m
range.
Congrats reaching up to that highest level of buggy speeds.
It was quite the pleasure to finally get to meet you face to face bud. We need to get together again before NABX 2011.popeyethewelder - 5-4-2010 at 01:04 PM
Bloody awesome guys well done, I have already updated the records...I trust you will either send me or post your GPS's...btw...GPS photos with the
pilots face in the shot guarantees being included
i got my eyes on that world record beach/sand..... :evil:Dagon - 5-4-2010 at 02:40 PM
Yes, popeye I plan on sending you the photo tonight, this one even has my face in it.Hardrock - 5-4-2010 at 04:19 PM
Dagon that is screaming. Congrats on your new record.arkay - 5-4-2010 at 05:09 PM
Wow... awesome speed congrats! :bigok:
I had a feeling that the wind would popup later in the afternoon. I was driving back in huge winds all the way down 15 and up 5. It's blowing like
there's no tomorrow here in oregon too (just walked in the door)!
I set a personal record, playa helps, with my rage 2.5 at 35.8, not sure what the winds were doing at the time, low-mid 20's is my guess. almost
broke my record on the wya back from the outback challenge when a big gust came in but before I could build anything off of it I chose to skid and
head up wind and only hit 34 flexiblade - 5-4-2010 at 06:00 PM
Congratulations - well earned. The sad part is that beach riding will be like walking to you now.macboy - 5-4-2010 at 08:22 PM
Wow. That's fast. Soil the skirt fast if it were on any surface other than the playa. Thanks to this thread I forced myself to do the kmh->mph
conversion. That makes my personal best 40.3mph! Sounds impressive but nothing like 60+!!!popeyethewelder - 5-4-2010 at 11:14 PM

Good luck with that....Windjammer is a very good friend of mine, and I believe that record will take some beating, its a totally different kettle of
fish from the DLB...best of luck dylan423Dagon - 8-4-2010 at 10:12 AM
Best I ever did on sand was 50.1mph, and the winds were blowing at 40-50mph that day.art_lessing - 8-4-2010 at 11:55 AM
I was there that day....the wind was so strong I could barely land a 1.7 beamer it just kept powering up..even on brakespopeyethewelder - 8-4-2010 at 12:16 PM

when I done the 57...it was blowing around 26mph with a 3.4 Yak, shows how good the beach was and how good the buggy was set up
