Ozone Comparison

So I'm still in search of a high wind kite in the 3m range, and from what I hear, a lot of you NABX'ers wold have liked a nice small kite out there. I sympathize with you guys completely as a couple of weeks ago (same day as the buggy video I posted) my 5m Flow spanked me real hard and I didn't have anything smaller to use with a buggy. I've had my eye on a 3m Flow (because of familiarity) or an Imp III Quattro and would like to know if anyone has done a direct comparison of the two. Which would be a better high wind buggy kite?

While I love my Imp, the Flow is a bit more heavily constructed and better for purposes other than static flying. Additionally, the Flow will get further out toward the edge of the window, giving you less side pull than the Imp.

I knew I could count on you Maven, you seem to be biased towards the Ozone's just like I am. Have you ever tried a 3.5m Imp? Do they all sit farther back in the window or is more of an issue with the smaller ones? From what I have read the flow is designed as the step between the Imp and the Access series. I kinda wanted to try a new series just to spice it up, but if it's a waste than maybe I'll just stick with the Flow... Although I am still on the hunt for the elusive pink and blue Cult. :D

I haven't flown the latest (Imp III) in 3.5, though I did fly the Imp II in 3.5. That definitely sat further back in the window. The Imp is really intended as a learning tool. It's a good kite, but the Flow is better and intended for more serious flying. I'd label the Flow as a step between the Imp and the Yakuza, not the Access.

Definitely the flow. The Yakuza would be better on the buggy but it is a completely different animal.

I fully agree with Mavern on this one. The Flow is a little higher aspect ratio kite than the IMP - giving it more performance and the construction is much better overall.

Perfect. Thanks guys for all the great info!:thumbup:

I agree with everyone else. As the old saying goes, just go with the FLOW. I have had my 5m Flow for a while now and have a 2m on the way for higher wind days. I think you will be happier in the long run with the Flow over the Imp.
