Had a solid 10 kts today, first launch attempt was successful.
Had to tug on the centerlines, then pull the bar, tug, pull, and up she went....
Played around with it awhile, checked the auto zenith.. After about 20 seconds it starts to drift left, and keeps drifting.. Could this be a
steering adjuster just a little off?
I love landing this kite... Get it to the edge just off the ground, pull the safety, dead kite on ground... Thats one of the reasons i went for
arcs.. I always kite alone... So sad
After landing, I pulled in the trailing edge adjuster in 2", and pulled in the steering adjusters in the same.. Launched again, but with much more
difficulty, had to really tug and pull, over and over again but got it up... I had no power now and it struggled to fly.. I'm guessing that I was in
the absolute low end of its flying capabilities, and tightening the center strap killed it....
In low winds can i tighten the steering adj. a little to speed things up, or will this kill it also????
1 more question----- As the winds increase, please guide me thru the adjustments i want to make as it gets to the top of its wind range.....
I LOVE MY NEW KITE, AND MORE COMING ! ! !
Thanks for all your help,

You won't be alone for long if I can get down there. I am ready to tear it up!!!! Besides I need someone to teach me about depowers so I can keep
working my way towards Kitboarding!.Kamikuza - 19-4-2010 at 05:23 PM
Could be the steering adjuster but auto-zenith becomes increasingly effective as the wind picks up.
Hey I kite alone too ... and even if there are other people around, I may as well be kiting alone cos they are #@%$#!ing brain dead here - Sunday, a
kitesurfer guy walked right into my lines as I was flying, about 3m downwind of me. He saw me launch the 12m, watched it for a while as I did
ground-level zooms through the window - then walked right into the lines as the kite came back towards him. :puzzled:
So lets not even go into the details of trying to get an assist on landing with an arc from a bunch of SLE users :puzzled:
Try the CTB method and you won't have to pop the safety. Assuming you have a Zero-7 bar ...
By steering adjuster you mean in the wing tips? If I've got my facts straight, what you're doing there is shortening the rear lines even more ... so
you'll risk stalling, but gain more oomph from your turning inputs.
I think the center strap is probably the most important for adjusting overall power in the kite. And IIRC 10 knots is the bottom of the range for the
19 ...
Check the arc calculator ...borntofli - 19-4-2010 at 05:28 PM

Yep, you're going to need some good wind for auto-zenith to function correctly. After 20 seconds, you're just looking for flaws in the system. You'll
rarely need more than 20 seconds for anything, you can always just tweak the bar to correct and minor mistakes.WIllardTheGrey - 19-4-2010 at 05:34 PM

in light air canopy pressure and LE pressure can make temporary asymmetries and equally distorted pull, and the cool thing as they drift it picks
pressure and generally enough to stablize but can start drift swings if the air is really marginal. cool ..once you get moving that little drift will
be meaninglessborntofli - 19-4-2010 at 05:40 PM
I was really quite pleased.... more than enough time to mess around w/ the board, or whatever other problems i'm having... So much better than tube
kites ! ! Just asking questions, trying to figure things out.....

Gald to hear you got it going.
and do keep asking questions, I can't get mine out that much during the week and can learn a lot from the answers your getting.Bladerunner - 19-4-2010 at 06:00 PM
As far as setting trim.
I launch about 85% depowered. The best way to adjust the trim strap is so the kite will stall right out when the bar is pulled completely in.
Typically I just move it to about 50 / 50 if the kite feels like it is in it's range.-mj- - 21-4-2010 at 12:11 AM
In light winds its best to set all the internal straps as loose as possible otherwise you'll choke the kite too much.
To get to he top of its windrange, learn learn and learn, take time to get adjusted to more wind every time you fly.
The higher you come in the windrange the happier your kite will be and the better it will do its job.
