Buggyless Bob

BeamerBob - 20-4-2010 at 12:49 PM

Well, I jumped through the door to offer my buggy for sale and it lasted a couple hours. It has a new owner and he is amongst us. I'll be sourcing a new buggy soon. That buggy is very much like an old friend with my custom pads, covers, backrest, PL seat, and the bigfoot conversion. It was all a journey.......... One that continues.

SCREWYFITS - 20-4-2010 at 12:52 PM

Wow, that might of been premature, I have some news to share with ya, I think your gonna be stoked... I'll email ya soon...

SCREWYFITS - 20-4-2010 at 12:57 PM

It's all good, and I'm hoping its gonna help the sport out some... I don't want to be premature myself when all the details are being worked out still...

BeamerBob - 20-4-2010 at 01:27 PM

awindofchange - 20-4-2010 at 04:30 PM

I thought Nevada already was a kitebuggy park...with buffet's!

SCREWYFITS - 20-4-2010 at 04:36 PM

Its more a local/world exposure thing more than anything else, but It's not in stone yet so I don't want to jinx it... LOL...

some liked Dino in a skirt at NABX, but sending him to Pron Valley to promote kiting doesnt do much. we dont need another Ron Jeremy.

rocfighter - 21-4-2010 at 04:37 AM

Porn on buggies, That would sell I bet :eekdrull:

BeamerBob - 21-4-2010 at 07:40 AM

You saw where Dino's buggy snuck up behind Rip's buggy? I had to shield my kids eyes!

flexiblade - 21-4-2010 at 07:43 AM

So Bob what are you riding in the meantime? Did Dino pick up your bug? Was eyeballing Moss Landing for this upcoming weekend - looks like it might disappear, but for future reference do you think you'll be ready?

Drewculous - 21-4-2010 at 08:09 AM

...not dino
:ninja:

cheezycheese - 21-4-2010 at 08:23 AM

ah ha, kinda thought it was you Drew. Bob made reference to your buGGy dreams being answered...:singing:

BeamerBob - 21-4-2010 at 08:35 AM

I'm in limbo right now. I have a couple options that I'm exploring but should have something in the pipeline next week. Dino has a couple demo's that I might share a little in the meantime. Either way, looks like I'll need a buggy rack for the outside of the car now.

arkay - 21-4-2010 at 10:09 AM

you just need a trailer ;)

BeamerBob - 21-4-2010 at 10:16 AM

People towing trailers are apparently not fit to evaluate their driving vs conditions in California and must adhere to a 55 mph speed limit even on a flat straight road with no traffic. Not to mention that I already have a boat and camper in storage because I don't have anywhere to keep them at home. I'll get off my stump now. My new buggy won't fit in my car like my Flexi wide axle did. Pop off the back wheels and just roll it in and close the door. I'll have to make other arrangements with a wider axle.

arkay - 21-4-2010 at 10:39 AM

Well you should go 55, I remember K3 cursing that, I seemed to be on with my trailer (under 1000 lbs) going faster. Trailer was more than stable, but cops didn't care. Maybe it was my out of state plates.

So then what you need is a hitch rack! Just make sure to figure out your cars max tongue weight and the buggy weight. Should be well with in spec unless you're going to get 1/4" thick stainless :shocked2:

I don't like putting the buggy on the top of my car, to much scratching and knocking, and typically rated for 150lbs load, though it can hold more.

rocfighter - 21-4-2010 at 10:55 AM

Thanks to my buggy I found out the spoiler on my Bonniville is made of mostly bondo covered fiberglass!! The rest of the body panels are plastic. But the spoiler cracked when I dropped the neck of the buggy on it by accident (Wait did I need to add that?)

BeamerBob - 21-4-2010 at 11:24 AM

I can safely run over 70 with my 29 foot camper and 80 with the ski boat. I can slow down if conditions call for it, but 55 is just a burden on the truckers and expediency of the populace. I'm worried about hefting a 90 plus pound buggy onto the roof as well. My car is a yukon xl with a 600# tongue weight rating so no problem there.

Not yet but I'm just starting to pack it up right now. Not sure how I'll feel with those ceiling hooks in the garage hanging empty.

AD72 - 22-4-2010 at 12:30 PM

We can go surfin' in the meantime.

BeamerBob - 22-4-2010 at 12:40 PM

Let's find a day and DO that! Nothing promising for the next 6 days.

pokitetrash - 28-4-2010 at 01:04 PM

Sound like you need a HD Buggy Rack for your hitch!

Buggy Carrier.jpg - 32kB

BeamerBob - 28-4-2010 at 01:40 PM

I certainly will. The new buggy won't fit inside the car anymore without laborious dismantling. I'll have to whip something up locally I guess.

DAKITEZ - 28-4-2010 at 01:52 PM

I will be modding my rack, so come on over the welder will already be out. Just bring your steel and lets do work

Drewculous - 28-4-2010 at 07:37 PM

... sorry bob... i took your baby...

...thanks btw!

erratic winds - 28-4-2010 at 08:00 PM

Anytime there's a welding party, there is bound to be a good time. Er'body wear eye protection!

BeamerBob - 28-4-2010 at 08:22 PM

Drew it had done its duty with me. I know you will love her and take care of her just like I did.

Erratic, I'm all over the eye protection. If someone is welding for me, I'm watching to see if I can learn to do it myself. My grandfather ran a welding company so I have it in my blood.

pokitetrash - 29-4-2010 at 03:25 AM

Don't forget the cup holder. Everything needs a cup holder...

I didn't have one put on my buggy rack. Now I have to carefully stand my beer on my bumper.

I manage.

tridude - 1-5-2010 at 02:24 PM

Bob,

Youve got a trailer hitch on your Escalade.......................buy an external bike rack (fork style) thats how Im going to transport the newly acquired PLBF..............................obtw I need to send Angus some dineros...........................:lol::duh::duh:
