Out n Back GPS tracks

macboy - 23-4-2010 at 11:47 PM

Haven't had much time to get the video together of the trek but thought I'd post this to tease y'all along. Seems that the clock on the GPS isn't set to the right time unless I went out with the Flexi boys that night without realizing it : )

Roughly 4 1/2 hours round trip (which includes the kite washing and the pause at the marker to relish the aoxomoxoa).

Here's my tracks, been meaning to get dig these up since K3 posted. Had my rage 3.5, worked well in the gusts and survived the lulls.

You can see my "AHHHH WTF A FENCE" moment out there :)

Hey that's sweet. What kinda GPS gives you those speed and distance gradients? Is it a function of the GPS or what you do with it in Google?

it's an interactive map that you can take a screenshot of ;) Fun to zoom into your tracks and look at turns and such, of course, while drinking beer.

I made it without gps. I had a gps but didn't put the lat long in it planning to just run with the pack. I got separated from the start to change to a smaller kite. I kept targeting kites or groups of kites to find my way. I went to the west of the settlement pond and maybe not such a great route weaving my way from one clear spot to the next. The 4th group was my group and they were getting out of their buggies at the destination.
