Any Kite Buggy Magazines?

pokitetrash - 29-4-2010 at 10:03 AM

I've seen several Kite Surfing mags and they don't have much if any buggy stuff. Anyone know of a mag for buggiers or at least one more diverse?

EDIT: Rip types shorter and faster than me. :sniff:

Have you already checked out IKITEMAG. It is a free online magazine that covers water, snow, and land (board and buggy). There are currently 3 back issues online. It's pretty nice.

There is also PowerKite Magazine... dedicated to land-based kiting...out of the UK. A tad spendy for ₤21 for 1 Year or ₤38 for 2 years. You might also find copies at a well stocked Barnes & Noble, if you want to peek before taking the plunge.

IKSURF is a free online magazine for water based kiting, and currently has 19 back issues online.

Drift is free online magazine dedicated to snow based kiting. 2 back issues currently online.

Last year, Rip was working on an online mag for land based kiting, but not sure of the status of that.

KiteSpain is online, free... and available in Spanish and English  with 4 back issues online. Skews towards water.

If you can read German or don't mind translating through Google, your options open up with Kites & Friends/Snow & Kite/Buggy & Kite

I am sure I missed some, but hopefully that helps.

The problem with finding magazines online or print for something like buggying is that it is a bit niche. If you find something it will most likely be on the other side of the ocean, so either expensive or in need of translation.

Sam

All good info. I'm a bit old school though and would love something to read when I'm in the ...well, when I'm... away from a computer...:embarrased:

Rip, wassup? Mag?

Even with the propellor beanie on, I can see the appeal of a printed magazine... truly. Hop on over to your local B&N and see if they stock PowerKite Magazine. Some have a very large selection of UK mags. If you like it, it might be worth the cost to get the subscription.

The local B&N couldn't find it in the index to even order it for me a while back. I suppose I could contact the magazine and find the IBN # or whatever it's called to find it for B&N.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

The project got side tracked at the moment with all the other projects. Dude that was looking after the website and the online mag is currently in school so I hope he is ready to go during the summer.

Honestly kite and friends is the best for land, even though it's printed in German looking at the pics will last you a week.
I'm old school too so I like print when on the pottie.
