Fantastic day on the V2 13... how could I not go out with wind like that? Nice breeze, not too heavy, not too light, and a great outlook! I went
out at about 230 and was out for 2.5h including some jumping after the buggy trip The v213 was reasonably floaty, though I had it trimmed on the kite straps and bar to about 1/2.
From the mountain in the north to the tip of the jetty is about 5m, but it's not a simple straight trip. Pretty grey day so not that many ppl out and
only a few horses.
Lots, lots, lots of tacking. I went about 4-5 miles at the crow flies in 11 miles I went out just beofre high tide so I have very little beach to work with and there was A LOT of debris and logs. But that was fun! I was also
trying to chase the waves and turn quickly before they soaked me to get more beach and to try to slingshot myself out of the turn so that I could cut
really hard up wind. before the really dry white sand and minefield of logs. I had a BF on the front, but only wides on the back and they were
skidding horribly in the soft sand. Wanted to get out to the jetty, but I was running out of beach and the sand started blowing so I figured I'd save
it for another day... got plenty far with the insane tacks. and had a complete blast :wee:
Yeah, you don't have to tack like this on the playa...csa_deadon - 3-5-2010 at 01:31 AM

Wow, I bet that was an awesome day. My flat learning curve hasn't experienced nothing of the sort.
Horses? How do they react to your kite and bug?

Depends, some horses get freaked, some are fine. If I see horses I usually slow down and keep the kite really high. They can't really see up there.
Although, let it be known, horses own the beach. I think the hierarchy is horses > dogs > children > people > kites
