Shout out!

Drewculous - 4-5-2010 at 10:15 AM

I know this prolly goes in the good trader list, but it should be seen!

Gotta give some props to Angus at Coastal Wind Sports! Time and time again, he has gone out of his way to help me out... strop issues, hes got me covered.... kite i'm not sure i can find anymore... hes got me... i even had some UPS distress with someone else entirely, and Angus called me, and offered his help!

We have a great line up of vendors on this site, but man... I dont think i have ever had customer service this good anywhere! And i deal with a fair amount of vendors (other than kites of course) on a daily basis.

Just gotta say i really appreciate Angus's willingness to go above and beyond for a fellow kiter!

Thanks Angus! However, you keep helpin me out like this, i'm gonna owe you a truckload of beers when i finally make it down to JIBE!

I've always said it comes down to loving your work. He is passionate about the kiting and those who participate. I knew this the day I bought my first Beamer from him at a festival on Jekyll Island, and having mentioned that I would be heading out to the beach to fly it, Angus came down to the beach and flew with us. Been friends ever since.

Kent at A Wind of Change is much the same way, but doesn't spend quite as much time on the forum as Angus does and thus Angus tends to stand out more. Not that Angus isn't awesome mind you, just sayin'.

:bigok: for both guys... above and beyond the call of duty!!

mougl - 4-5-2010 at 01:43 PM

So what you're saying here is that when I hit Angus with a barrage of questions at JIBE its no big deal? Lol

Drewculous - 4-5-2010 at 02:14 PM

most of my dealings with angus have been offline tho... i've picked up good advice from him here... but all of the things that make him a great guy to deal with have been the offline interaction... i havent dealt with Kent, but if he shares the same passion as angus, he's prolly a great vendor too

Pretty much standard operating procedure for angus

Hardrock - 4-5-2010 at 02:45 PM

Oh yea, can't say enough about ole Angus. mougnal, you might have to take a number. LOL
(I'll need some help with that g silent thing)

I'll add one thing. I've had peeps from this forum offer bindings free, Kites to fly for as long as I wanted. Free board to take home and other things. I need to look in my private messages now, LOL.

These people didn't even know my name, let alone who I am. Angus refunded money when I choose the wrong shipping.

Some just sent private messages so I didn't speak of it or their name but damn!!! What a group to be a part of.

Drew, thats goes for you too. We are still using the material you hooked us up with.

I've seen lots of things in here from the kite shop guys on the west coast also. unbelievable just unbelievable.

Shout out?!? :puzzled:

Angus has a 21 howl of appreciation from me.... but the man does need to learn not to pick up his phone on Sunday mornings.

Note to self: Sam shouldn't be allowed to operate heavy machinery or post after a 37 hour shift

A lot of of our phone calls just feels like we are shooting the breeze about kites and life on the porch of an old general store.

ATB,
Sam

All the dealers here seem to be all about helping us help the sport grow, and thats AWESOME! I've spoken to Angus a couple of times very briefly thru email and he was A+ in my book. I've had Dino from DaSkirtz...erm, i mean DaKitez on the line SEVERAL times and he's always been amazing to work with.

this is the one sickness, uh hobby, yes hobby I've had where working with the dealers was less like a transaction and more like talking to an old friend who is helping you reach your goals in the sport. All the dealers get :thumbup: imho

Yeah, that's the way it is talking with Kent too.

acampbell - 5-5-2010 at 05:41 AM

Thanks guys and I'm chuffed to bits but glad to see you mention the other dealers. They have all gotten my back to help me with product when I am sometimes caught short. We all try to read the tea leaves and anticipate inventory needs but we can't guess right all the time (like the time when a sleepless guy wipes me out of 10 ground stakes at once!).

Kite peeps have good karma.

Ask me all you want at JIBE but you will have to keep up with me!
