Antony:
May find some answers on this Flexifoil thread:
Buggy padding
Also, I don't know if swim "noodles" are more durable but you may want to give that a try. I guess personally I would go with a set of BMX frame pads.

I have used pool noodles for padding. After I put them on I use duct tape and wrap them us real good before I put on the side rail covers. So far
the noodles have held up real well.

I always complain about Wal-mart here in the States, then I realize it's the quickest place to get nifty little bits like the swim noodles. Hope you
can find them at a discount store, cause they are very cheap (usually about $6 USD). Hate to see you have to mail order them. I still reckon BMX pads
may be your best shot cause they come with the velcro nylon covers.

I use WalMart for buggy side-rail pads, too!
However, I buy the weight-bar pads, for weight-lifting gear. The have a Velcro strip the whole length of the pad, and they're very firm and last
years. Only available in black, which matches the PL seat just fine. And, they're only about $5 a pop.
Also, I buy my speedometers (bicycle type by Bell) at Wally World, too. I checked mine with GPS this summer, for the first time, and it was totally
accurate. Nice to know I haven't been kidding myself about just how SLOW I do buggy. Wouldn't want to "endanger the public", now, would we?
