I've decided to create a thread of my own so I can stop hijacking milesAway's thread. I will try to keep this first post continually updated as I make
more tweaks to my off-road roller skates.
Also, I have decided that the fact I was already at "Version 4" only 8 weeks or so in is a bit crazy. I am going to call that version "Version 1.3",
not that it makes much of a difference.

May 14th~Version 2.0
I have decided on a simple solution to fixing the problem of stability, especially in terms of ankle movement of the earlier versions. My attempted
fix is to put the trucks from the skateboard that was previously being used as an offroad conversion rather than the trucks that came with the skates.
Unfortunately I only have one skateboard, and as such only have enough trucks for a single prototype skate.
As far as I can tell from scooting around in the street on one skate, trying to hold my balance, it is a much better fit. The wheel base is a good
deal wider which allows for better balance. It's time to find a friend with an old skateboard lying around to use the trucks from!
Also, the duct tape toe added in version 1.3 has not stood the test of heat. After sitting in my car and out in the sun, any rigidity was lost and the
toe is now too floppy to hold a shoe from moving. Back to the mental playland to think of some new ideas! :wee:
I will add pics tomorrow
