Wife was at her school's sports festival today ...
... bunch of tent things (heavy metal frames with a canvas cover) around the perimeter of the field, kids and parents sitting under them when
something like a twister picked two of them up and dropped them again.
Cuts, bruises, concussions, broken arms and a broken pelvis for the kids
For some reason the cops turned up and then fingerprinted everyone - yes even the kid lying on a stretcher with a broken pelvis :ticking: helicopters
in the air taking photos, ambulances everywhere ...
Kids had to sit in the middle of the field away from the dangerous tents and all got sunstroke
Glad I wasn't there cos I would have gone mental if they tried to fingerprint me ... the cop logic is either the banal reason they use for 99% of
accidents here - "someone got hurt so someone else has to pay for it" or the cops were worried that people would give a statement and then claim they
weren't there after all
Either way, the #@%$#! is probably going to come down on the school from the whining maggot parents and the school is going to have to sue the tent
company and I just hope that the retarded #@%$#!in cops don't try to press charges on the staff ... or we'll be leaving town.
So how was your day? Kamikuza - 15-5-2010 at 05:08 AM
Apparently it made the national news, with pictures and all newtokiting - 15-5-2010 at 09:26 AM
reading all your posts reminds me just how sweet living in the usa is.......Kamikuza - 15-5-2010 at 05:43 PM
The cops are saying that the tents weren't secured to the ground and are treating it as a criminal investigation The school headmaster will probably lose his job simply cos that's what's
expected
No school has ever secured these things cos they weigh a ton and the wife seems to remember the instructions explicitly saying you don't need to
secure them - cos they weigh a ton.
Notice in the picture all the tents there - but only 2 got picked up?
... sometimes, an accident is just an accident and there's no blame to be assigned.Superdog - 17-5-2010 at 12:28 AM

Just never happen here ... can only assume that cos it was a hot day and the whole #@%$#!in country is one big slab of heat-island generating
concrete, they got a little freak weather formation. There were a bunch of tents on the ground but only 2 got whipped into the sky ...
... or an act of god? :puzzled:Maven454 - 17-5-2010 at 05:28 PM
Yeah, I wouldn't even call those tents, just canopies, and I've never seen that kind of thing staked.Kamikuza - 17-5-2010 at 05:33 PM
Standard Board of Ed funded canopy shade things but they're all called "tent" in Japanese regardless. It was the metal frames that did all the damage

That looks like a thermal lifting off , it will take a swirling twisting mess with it.Kamikuza - 17-5-2010 at 08:27 PM
The wife said one of them just hovered there for a while and she rushed in under it to drag kids out :shocked2:krumly - 17-5-2010 at 10:22 PM
I rmeber as a kid on a really hot summer day in Minnesota this big asphalt parking lot at the Catholic church by my house generated little dust
devils. We were running into them and getting tossed back out - thought it was pretty cool. Sounds like you had something similar and a bit bigger.
Pretty freaky.
