Sod farm in Quincy WA

sunset-Jim - 25-5-2010 at 08:55 AM

I know this is short, short notice. But there is an event out in Quincy this Memorial day weekend with quite a few other activities going on and there is an area reserved for NAPKRA members (due to insurance requirements) to buggy on. I myself have never buggied on grass and very much look forward to trying it out.

ok guys.
i have buggied on grass many times. the kind you ride on. LOL
unless you have shocks on your buggy. do your self a favor for a softer ride.
let some air out of your tires.

Until this weekend I hadn't spent a whole day buggying on a beach. Only on turf while on grass !
Fortunately I gave up drinking long before I picked up kites :P

More fortunately, I joined NAPKRA so I can attend all these groovy events ! EVERYBODY SHOULD !!!!!!!

Kelci and I will be there with buggies, buggy kites and regular kites.

Hey guys I will be out at the festival in Quincy this weekend, with a full quiver of HQ powerkites if you want to play with any of them :) teehee. That and come up and say you are a PKF member and intro yourself! I would love to put a face with the member name.

stetson05 - 26-5-2010 at 11:21 AM

oh I would love to try a neo2 8m as a high wind kite. I wonder if I can make it on saturday.

i will have two you can play with :) I am excited to know that other folks are coming out to it. :) I might have a beer or two for the PKF folks. WOO!

looking at the weather it looks like low wind kites will be the order of the day. I have flown there and I really enjoyed it. I got the first good landboard session with a depower kite there.

My kiting habit (and wife) demands that I work every once in a whole.
Too bad it has to be on this weekend.
There's always next time.

The weather looks rainy late today and all day friday with good wind on friday.

Saturday morning looks like 10 knots and clear all day on Saturday. Wind might drop off during the day but the morning looks great! Yesterday when I looked there didn't look be any wind but the forecast just keeps getting better and better:singing:

stetson05 - 27-5-2010 at 08:19 PM

wow, Now it looks like wind all day! It is really tempting me.

fletcht - 31-5-2010 at 10:40 PM

Had good winds Saturday and Sunday, I don't know about Monday. Learned about going big while pulling a tandem buggy. Got some big air. See last sentence. All in all had a good time.

bigkid - 1-6-2010 at 05:12 AM

As fletcht said winds were good Sat and Sun. A little rain Sun night but Mon wasn't bad either. Sorry to have missed the fellowship with you guys but had to take care of stuff. the early morning and late evening was the best for me, got some high speed runs in when the fields empied out, 3/4 mile runs on grass is nice.
Sorry not to have Sunset Jim make it but better safe than sorry, next time Jim and I will give you a ride.

We had some nice afternoon winds on both Sat & Sun. I was a little surprised at the ruff ride, especially over some of the sprinkler wheel tracks. We had a great time and it was well worth the trip.

I ended up working. most of the day I was looking out the window, watching the wind blow the trees and wishing I was elsewhere. Glad you had fun.
