Im not sure if this is the right sub but it seemed a close match so here it goes......
I enjoy static flying the smaller power kites and want to find a good middle ground from what i have. On one hand i have a Prism Snapshot 1.4 and on
the other is a Pansh (i know ive read the love for them) Ace 3.0. As you would expect the snapshot flys great but lacks the pull i like unless its
really windy. The Ace i have issues with and when i do get it flying its usually a little much for me to hang onto and stay pretty much static. I
dont mind getting pulled around some but i want something in the middle.
When i go out its usually between 10 - 20 or so mph with maybe 30 mph gusts on the high side. I like the 4 line since its more technical to fly and
like speed in the manuvers. Thats why i went with the Ace to try to get that and after having it for a couple years it really doesnt get much use. I
wish i knew how to tweak it.
So with that said is there anything out there like what im looking for that doesnt cost to much? Oh yes there had to be a catch.
Thanks for any help.

Hi major and welcome to the forum.
Thats a pretty wide wind range. Too me, they all cost a lot. Theres so many to choose from you will need to figure out the size you want then go from
there.
Your weight will be a factor also. Personally, I wouldn't fly in 30mph gust. 10 to 15 is a fun range for many kites, 20mph inland is a bit scary also.
I like the HQ Beamers for starters. 3m or 4m sounds like what you might want. Others on here have tons more knowledge on other brands but the Beamers
just fly so good and are of great quality. At least they are easy to fly and can get you where you want to go as far as learning skills.
If you decide to stay with the sport, more kites will be wanted and needed. You'll probably keep a quality 3 or 4m for ever. You'll also want so much
other gear later on that price won't hold you back. LOL
One of your best local shops is Coastal Wind Sports. Its just across the line in Ga. Angus Campbell runs it and can have you the kite of choice in a
couple days. www.coastalwindsports.com
You can trust any of the shop owners in this forum, all are great guys.

I live and fly inland with wind range of about 10-20mph gusty and fly a 4m beamer (15-20mph being my favorite) mostly lots of pull and enough lift to
get some small to medium jumps but it's managable. beamer being a mid priced kite!? :Ange09: :bouncy: :Ange09:

you could try a peter lynn viper 2.6, fly it in 10-15 and you''ll have a blast---don't fly it in anymore than that until you get confident in the
abilities of the kite and yourself---there are so many variables to consider for you, but i believe a viper is a good starter........of course, there
are other good choices as well.........

Kent has a huge inventory of kites that might appeal to you. Check out the Peter Lynn selection... Also, his name is Awindofchange on here. Hit him up
for some info, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help.
