FS bars ... no self-landing handles on the rear line leaders?

Kamikuza - 3-6-2010 at 03:26 AM

Why? Can I add them :D

Unrolled my S 1.5 and had a look ... lovely  no bloody wind - not even a breath of the 10 knots the forecast predicted - but it was nice to get to know the kite without the fear of flying away ...

My pulse has a series of three stopper balls on the rear lines which I grab hold of and back the kite down. Workes pretty well but the self-landing line would be better for staking purposes. You would easily add one yourself if so inclined with some suitable line or webbing that was comfortable to grip.

my 13m Pulse has the loops/velcro tabs but none of the newer kites i have (Pules 2 12m, Speed 1.5 17m, 19SA2) have the loops/tabs.
i missed them initially but it's no big deal.

My flysurfer kites have stopper balls I just grab and pull down that way. Works fine... Wierd that the S1 doesnt have that....

I prefer the stopper balls on my Pulse. On the rare occasion my line would get messed up when I pulled the O.S. loops on my 13 Psycho.

I just do a wrap around my stake when parking the kite.

No problems

Got the balls too just wondered if you could put on handles ... those sissy little rings bother me

powerzone - 4-6-2010 at 10:01 AM

maybe we need a picture of what you're talking about with the "sissy rings"

Kamikuza - 4-6-2010 at 04:04 PM

The rings on the FDS and the brake leaders - they just look sorta small and thin compared to the PL ones :D They're not used for anything much so I guess it doesn't really matter

According to the guys at foilzone, there used to be OS handles on the Pulse (?) but the rigging at the kite couldn't handle it and would rip holes. So, bad idea then

I think you mean TDS . Flags on one side. FDS is like a fifth line and tacos the kite in the middle.

Flysurfer have " LB. rated break away connectors " between the bridle and kite. Ripping a hole in a Flysurfer bridle point is almost impossible thanks to them. Not sure what the folks at foil zone were doing ?

My pulse came with some optional O.S. handles but I didn't like them. I yank every bit as hard on the balls ?
