Got a new GoPro HD last week, and got a chance to get out and try it out.
Wind was pretty crappy, but I made the best of it.

Nice such a lovely field!
What software did you edit with?
Hardrock - 6-6-2010 at 05:21 PM

nice spot
you could get some good speed on the roads and then blast into the grass for a nice easy turn.

Hey brpatz, can you describe the launch your doing.
Seem to be starting out in a taco shape. You have anything holding the bar end when setting up?
Any weight at the kite end?

Nice video, brplatz! Where is that field?

Awesome! Looked like a great day to test out that new GoPro of yours!
brplatz - 7-6-2010 at 04:50 PM
@Kami
I use Pinnacle Studio 12 to edit the vids.
@Hardrock
That launch is actually just a relaunch after it collapsed in a wind lull. But I have tried some odd launching methods, like what you saw, but from
the beginning, but nothing really works as good as a strong breeze and a friend to help.
@Spacemonkey
The field is Balloon Fiesta Park, Albuquerque, NM

perfect spot! i can only dream of such places. in germany: instead of new kitespots emerging more and more spots get closed.

That is an increadible spot. If I had anything even remotely like this here I would do more groundboarding.
But, with a name like"Balloon Fiesta Park", does that mean it is never windy there?
brplatz - 11-6-2010 at 12:44 PM
You would be surprised, on Balloon Fiesta week, usually half of the balloon launches are canceled on account of too much wind. Mid September time
usually.
It is a great spot, but I am usually competing for space with soccer practices. Sometimes I will take over a section and be completely surrounded by
soccer practices, sometimes 10-12 teams.
Also, being inland, the winds are usually inconsistent and gusty, but I try to make the most of it.
Thanks,
Brian
