rain this past weekend here, so i traveled 150 miles to go camping with some friends--camped saturday, sunday totally free and the winds were a steady
15 to 25--and no friggin kites!! god i hate myself!!!@$#%!&$%^#@!~%$indigo_wolf - 7-6-2010 at 10:23 AM
If it makes you feel any better, I generally schlep 50 lbs of kites and gear (up/down escalators, in/out of elevators, on/off multiple vehicles) when
visiting my sister.
Including kiting gear, clothes, laptop, etc. it looks less like personal travel than a rollout for a SWAT training exercise.
Without out exception, every trip has been skunked for flying due to lack of winds or multiple days of rain.
Hope springs eternal or at least there is a genetic predispositon towards bulldog persistence, so I expect this practice will continue.
If I had had to have paid baggage charges, I would have been so royally <* mechanical formation of holes *> at this point.
Think of it this way, you took a one for the team/your friends.... if you had taken kites there would have been monsoon rains followed by flaming
geckos falling from the skies.

yeah, youre probably right.... the thing that gets me is, i almost always take some power kites--just in case, and the one time i dont.......but for
me, like most power kiters hope springs eternal, and next week we'll be back at it--enjoying our fav activity.......Drewculous - 7-6-2010 at 11:15 AM

The English language is merely being used as Play-Doh (oooh... who's got the comics sections?) today.
