my depower line on the 19m SA broke Wednesday afternoon at Sullis (safety system worked as advertised).................swam /walked in no issues but
thank goodness I wasnt 15 ft up...............I tried a 1/8 inch piece of amsteel line doubled strand with a break strength of 2400 lbs.............it
worked well for about 2 months without noticeable wear but all of a sudden popped...............replaced with 3/16 inch 4000 lb break strength single
strand..............lesson learned:wow::o:wow:

Yikes !!! Glad you are unscathed.
Not often advertised, but stuff like that is one of the reasons that I was so happy to see Ozone switch over to Ronstan Orbit pulleys (and for which they really should toot their own horn a bit louder as not
everyone reads the fine print)
Safety and paranoia should go together like PB & J more often.

You fly like you're ready for stuff like that Don. Glad you and your gear made it in safely.

i'm not a real fan of amsteel , navi set ate the main in about 150 hrs, swapped with out accident. ( but the safety line has failed, cut by bar,
twice already) permanently dropped now.
but i like rigging line with a casing, casing last like amsteel, and when the casing fails the cord is still intact and will last a session easy,
so plenty of return time .
and it sucks when they fail , glad all is well Don.
