As always, I will meet whoever I left off the list behind the wood shed.

Some lingo here under the section titled "Tutorials".

Note: Tongue in cheek from here onwards....

Other lingo that will become important:
"My American Express | Master Card | Visa number is .... , my CVID number is ... "

The most important lingo: "I would like to apply for the Kamikuza discount card"

Sam

One site that Sam left off but you discovered is right here at PKF. Don't forget to check the for sale section of this forum or make a post in the wanted section and you may also be able to find what you are looking for.

If you have a brick and morter shop near you explore it and support it. If not the online dealers mentioned above are all reputable and know their product.

Kites are a bit like cars or computers. They lose value as soon as they leave the shop. Each year they seem to make small or big breakthroughs and things are faster, safer , more reliable ..... Buying quality used gear at 1st is a bit easier on the pocket book.
Unlike cars and computers you are FAR better off with 2 or 3 quality used kites than one brand new one !!!! The for sale section and list of good sellers is a great place to shop for good used gear at good prices.

Most used Kite lingo--Also the most absurd.. :

Or something to that affect.

One that took me a coupe times hearing it before I caught on was

" smoking sand and sheep in the pasture"

Hello, Kent here from A Wind Of Change Kites.

As mentioned above, if you have a local shop near you, it is always best to support them. Even if you can find a slightly better deal online, supporting your local shop is always best. After all, they will be the ones that are there for you in the event of an emergency or even for general kiting information and talk. If you need a part, they will be there for you and will get you back up and flying in the same day. If you need a replacement or warranty work, they will take care of you.

If your local shop doesn't support you or if you are unfortunate enough to not have a local shop and online is your only option, feel free to give us a call or any of the other shops listed above. We are all here to help.

For information, you already found the best place on the internet for that. PKF is awesome and there are tons of people on here just waiting to help you out. :)

Welcome to the forum!

thx for the pimpin!!! =)

agreed on the knowledge base, PKF is the best for land based info. other forums are good too, and each one specializes in different area, from traction to kitesurfing.

if you're in the OR area, you can visit our new shop in Newport, OR (tax-free country).

also depending on what brand you buy there are teamriders located throughout the country so you're not far away from help too.

welcome to PKF, a place we kiters call HOME.
