can someone help me plz
sorry for my bad english.ktp5300 - 20-6-2010 at 03:36 AM
You should try the bigger kite.
Over 6.0 sqm. is recommended. my beloved blade3 10.5 and blaze ll 12m can crazy lift me.
Another way try it in stronger wind.Xypes - 20-6-2010 at 05:04 AM
What about in mid air.:puzzled:
how to hold your kite stable and not crashing down?
if u jump ur kite wil move to hold or lift u ferther up.
i saw someone how get about 20 feet and his kite swings so hard he broke his leg.
that hurts!!!:oflexiblade - 20-6-2010 at 10:32 AM
You may want to start with a smaller kite - if the blade is pulling you too much for you to even get any good footing you won't have the control
needed to safely handle that kind of kite. A 3m pansh legend or a HQ beamer will help you hone your skills before you go taking on a kite that will
hurt you eventually, just a matter of when.
Are you flying inland or at a beach?
What speed winds?
Before you go out and start trying to jump that 4.9 again you will want to get some solid advice - more folks will chime in soon enough.Xypes - 20-6-2010 at 11:30 AM
I started whit a 2.5M and I can handle is very good but it didn't had much pulling force
I normal fly inland in about 10 to 20 mph to try the technique.
the problem is it pulles hard and i can't glide becouse its gras whit wells.
but when i try to jump it pulles me forward and loseses strenght so i can't jump
do u have some advice:puzzled:flexiblade - 20-6-2010 at 04:20 PM
Here are a couple of videos that will show you some pointers of what to do and what not to do.
The first shows a good example of kite placement for a pendulum jump - the redirect at the end is a bit sloppy though.
This next one shows what can happen when you get a little #@%$#!y in gusty winds
and this one shows why placement of the kite in the wind window (control) is so important - don't bring it too low on a pendulum sweep - it will throw
you like this poor bastard. Also don't pick lame friends that are going to stand there and do nothing when you really need to go to the hospital.

I have seen insane jumps with a 6 meter, your 4.9 will be fine. You need to learn the technique and maybe a bit more wind.
1) Generate power to get your lines tight by swooping the kite back & forth across the top of the wind window.
2) Sweep your kite to the left and run to the right/backwards to keep lines tight, notice the lines getting tighter.
3) When you feel the kite lifting you, jump, and redirect the kite for a nice landing.
Practice on the manouver before jumping, it's a great way to learn.
If this does not work, then wait for a windy-er day! Xypes - 27-6-2010 at 05:11 AM
the technique works but i kown now why.
It's the wind its not conctant inland
so wehn i want to jump there i much wind but it always fall away
but on the beach it's constant so it always pulles hard and i jump now about 6 feet easely

Thank you, flexiblade for the illustrated tutorial.flexiblade - 26-7-2010 at 07:29 PM
Always willing to help - that and I usually try to temper any advice I give with the possible risks inherent in our oddball sport.Bladerunner - 26-7-2010 at 08:03 PM
Your kite has the nick name " the widow maker "
It is very lifty but has to be properly redirected or it will send you off like a slingshot.
You will need to go to a larger kite for better float.Seanny - 20-11-2010 at 02:58 PM
Just like Bladey said... the kite is LIFTY, but it is not big enough to be FLOATY. Any kite has the potential to lift you in enough wind, but you
really need a kite about 6m or more to have a better chance of a soft landing. FBF kites do not do well in gusty inland winds... they have practically
no gust absorption, and with a bigger FBF you will just be ripped off your feet if the wind picks up; however, with practice and the perfect wind, you
can pendulum jump with a Blade 4.9, but redirect is key. Kites like this have a habit of pulling you into the air and dropping you like a rock. I know
you don't want to be told you need a smaller kite or more practice with a small kite, but it may be a good idea.
Have you ever tried digging a small round hole and standing in it, then powering up the kite and jumping? This method may be a little easier than the
pendulum jump considering the circumstances.
Really the best thing you could do IMHO is get a bigger kite and fly it in low, steady winds. Maybe a bigger Blade?
Just be CAREFUL! Kite jumping is VERY unforgiving!!
Cheers,

thanks for posting the great videos for a beginner like me. Flown a few 3.0m and 5.0m in light winds and was thinking of saving up for a blade for the
ultimate lift but after seeing what usually goes wrong" eventually", i am having second thoughts about smaller kites and more technique seems to be
the key until you really get bored with that.....i appriciate the "looking out for a fellow flyer" which i see all over these forums...

heres a pendulum jump on a depower kite...if you want to go high, the you'll also want a float down from a bigger kite
flyjump - 11-3-2011 at 12:09 PM
whats nice about a de-power kite is that you can take out a bigger kite in stronger winds. de-power kite swing it hard as it crosses the powerzone
pull in the bar and up you will go. its much easier to hold down in stronger winds versus a fixed bridled kite. also, you don't have to worry about
accidently letting go lol.tridude - 11-3-2011 at 12:50 PM
sounds like the kite is flying you...........if youre not able to give the kite resistance you will never be able to load up power and use it for
vertical bliss...................learn to fly the kite on each side of the window holding ground..........once you get that figured send the kite from
10 to 1 oclock or 2 to 11 oclock...............as the kite passes you youll feel the line tighten and youll go up.........................Ive owned
series 2 thru 4 blades.................the series 2 blades are not as lifty as series 3 and 4...............................................
i have jumped on my tensor 3.1 in 10-15 mph winds high enough to really hurt myself. It is not that hard, just run back a little while pulling on the
kite and you will feel the power grab you and if you jump up in the air a bit...well look out. My advice is do not jump with any power kite unless you
are very skilled because it is so unpredictable how you will land, even if you have the skills to fly it. If you watch any of the videos people post,
you will see that is when they get hurt. Anyone can jump and get lifted with a power kite, but the real skill is landing it correctly. It will hurt
you quicker than you can react. You also have to practice letting go of it, seems easy, but your mind tells you to hold on to it.kiteetik - 22-3-2011 at 11:58 AM
to the op- i would say, go to a larger blade in less wind instead of a smaller blade in more wind--it will be safer for you--im not a big fan of
pendulum jumps w a blade.....i think a depower is safest for jumping.......
