Had a nice wee session tonight, although I got hit with a few lulls I got some riding done Was on the Speed but got me thinking ... is it better in that low end than the Synergy?
The FS is a bit of an effort to work it ... I seem to remember the Synergy is much easier to throw around the sky!
Assume the same board, rider weight and 10 knot-ish wind and vote now! :singing:Bladerunner - 24-6-2010 at 06:38 AM
16m Vapor. or other open cell race kite.
I think between the 2 you describe the Speed will win but you have to learn to fly it.
I traded down to a 15m Charger because the bottom end of the arc is the same .
Both will work at 10 kts.tridude - 24-6-2010 at 06:39 AM
19m SA 2 is the only kite better suited than your 17 SA in 10 kt winds.....................there is nothing out there with better low
end....................I believe the 19 SA2 turns as fast or faster than the 17 SA but there are some on here that will disagree...................in
10 kts Im popping 10 foot plus jumps on the 19.............checkout the pics in the gallery of my 19m in 10 to 12 mph winds.........Powerzone was
popping some impressvie table tops, 360s, and back rolls.................
also consider upwind...............the SA winds this one easily........PHREERIDER - 24-6-2010 at 08:05 AM
19 syn gonna be quicker to work light air but 10 knots with 200LBS++ rider thats asking alot .
but neither in 10knots for the KK equationripsessionkites - 24-6-2010 at 11:14 AM
FS Speed 3 - 19m Deluxe
the Charger/Syn are nice however i wouldnt go bigger than 15m, there seems to be very very little gain between the 15m vs 19m
personally im still trying to locate the benefits in the Navi bar, so if you're penny saving and have no issues with using the TS / Zero 7 bar get it
kite only.
however the Charger would be hard pressed to get you going in 10 knots or less.

I'm one of the few guys that actually prefers a 19 over a 15 Charger. I had a 15 and upgraded to a 19. The 15 just didn't have the grunt for me that
the 19 does. But I'm heavier then Rip. I have a 19M Speed2 as well, but would much rather ride the Charger whenever I can.Bladerunner - 24-6-2010 at 04:23 PM

One thing that I like a lot with the Navi' bar is the adjustable stopper !
The adjustable size is a nice feature also ? I will now be using one ( pricey ) medium bar on 3 sizes of kites.
I don't think the bar gets you going in lower wind though . Kamikuza - 24-6-2010 at 06:43 PM
I appreciate all your advice for kites I should buy but I have only
the two listed in the poll and want to know which one'd be better :D
Dunno if it was actually 10 knots, but the most optimistic weather forecast stated 5m/s and it was pretty borderline for riding at
all, let alone easily upwind - as it has been lately gotta get my jollies where
and when I can :D
I've noticed the Speed requires some finesse on the bar but rewards for the effort. Starting to feel more and more like a foil on handles to me, weird
as that sounds.
There seems to me to be a noticeable difference in the bottom end of the 15 and the 19 to me - the times I've had them out in the same low wind, I
could barely get up and riding on the 15 but the 19 had me powered - in what I felt was a similar weather conditions. Should actually take my
anemometer to the beach with me :D
I'm keen on the Navigator bar for the Centrix loop, safety line through the middle there and the cleat but don't feel the price is justified. Yet.
So what I wanted to know was: given the same board, lard-arse rider and borderline wind - which is the better kite to get me up and riding?
