new project.... for those windless days

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 08:30 AM

I was thinking that if I lose my battle w/ the park rangers and they ultimately ban kites to get rid of me. I will make one of these, in fact ,I'm not waiting for the ban on kites.

I have got to have one of these:wee:

bet they :piggy: don't have a law for this.

I am building a wakeskate now.

Drewculous - 30-6-2010 at 09:56 AM

that does look fun... i toyed around with the idea of building a winch last summer... just never got around to it tho

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 10:09 AM

and you could take it anywhere. You could snoboard, landboard, wakeskate whatever ,whenever.

lad - 30-6-2010 at 10:30 AM

never thought of that... you'd have to build a big one tho... most are under 8hp (side drive shaft) with a go kart clutch... might have to bump up to a 15ish hp motor, and get a bigger clutch

rocfighter - 30-6-2010 at 11:04 AM

Snowmobile engine with auto tourqe clutches. MORE POWER

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 11:12 AM

I'm thinking 11 hp honda-clone w/ a TAV2 and a1000 ft of line. this place has the goods

oh yea whip it up!!!

Va. isn't that far to try one of those things.:thumbup::lol:

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 11:14 AM

we could meet up at a lake in NC!

Drewculous - 30-6-2010 at 11:16 AM

I thought the tav2's were only good up to an 8hp motor?

Hardrock - 30-6-2010 at 11:17 AM

Thats some pricey stuff. But worth it if you have a place to put it local.

Yea, I'll go to NC.

lunchbox - 30-6-2010 at 11:22 AM

I'm sure there's other costs involved plus the value of your own time to build it...but seems like a lot of fun for not too much money....

...and that place...what a cool thing to do with a bunch of friends. If they had something like that near me, I'd take the kids there and make some friends ;-)

Good luck with that WG!

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 11:33 AM

drew, my bad ,it is the TC2 from bulletlines

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 11:36 AM

LB, you can take it anywhere ther is water. I have seen vids of people using irrigation canals and ponds. And you don't have to do the water thing, take it to a field and landboard.

Hardrock - 30-6-2010 at 11:50 AM

What would be cool is to have it in a field with a long downhill run. Ride down, pulled back up and never have to walk.

I guess gears determine the speed so might as well get two sets, a water set and a land set. LOL

ragden - 30-6-2010 at 11:57 AM

That looks very cool... :)

cheezycheese - 30-6-2010 at 11:59 AM

Why don't you get a spare tire rim and some rope, then park your pick-up on the far side of the lake n let 'er rip... Hillbilly style

WELDNGOD - 30-6-2010 at 12:01 PM

mougl - 30-6-2010 at 12:13 PM
