daily grind COOL BREEZE hurricane style

WOW wind crazy here.

i'll try and keep it straight.

FRIDAY, all day hammering eastern like a hurricane ! the 30 mph gust was the most consistent. and the ocean 6-8ft right at the break! that crazy never seen it so big here, even with a hurricane 100miles off shore!only kiter out in the afternoon and 13m ExA was trimmed down til the controls were mushy, after 30 min. it was all too much crazy off shore at times and even more 1/2 mile, like survival riding, which ain't so comfortable. funny thing the current so high in the break you could barely stand. SO , venom 10 comes out (should been the V13). about 30 min or so and my nerves are shot. it's so rough the wind the waves AND WHATs WITH THE COLD AIR!

the direction was the biggest factor tettering offshore for my spot, and the hurricane surf, very hard to work with!

SATURDAY in the AM. about an hour and somewhat smoothed out water but the tettering side shore seemed just as rough.

SATURDAY in the late afternoon.

FINALLY the SWEET TAIL of this eastern thing. water had settled a little. wind turned more east . and peeled off a relaxed powered session about 2 hours. gave the beach club a proper AIR show.

charger action = zero

ALL in all very strange weather, rough and rougher! but cool.

Wozers! I can't imagine going out in high current; I'd probably end up in California Ina hour.

to beat the current, just takes a little more kite or wind ...sometimes both!

its usually just close in about 100-150 yds but add the offshore puffs and just gets unsettling when you want to come in. the swells and run just eating up your juice on the rig. the run out just beats you to death peak after peak after peak and the return is like a conveyor belt JUST DON"T STOP.

Are you just giving your chargers a rest????

PHREERIDER - 5-7-2010 at 10:51 AM

it demands it!

the collapse thing has plagued me for last 5 sessions with it. and the land session have been pretty sparse. plus a local guy gets me on this fresh hybrid c-kite kinda all at the same time.

funny how alike the 2 kites are in speed, power and handling. my flying style has a lot of loops and kite action, the CH15 just amped it up even more. at about 200 hours on it some clamming starts showing up, not a single invert or bowtie, and all events were relaunched and kite resumes normal behavior , kinda, i'm just creeped out, but after 5 in a row my insanity wanes and in the penalty box you go.

if i was in some hip deep lagoon i wouldn't care, but this show is ocean going and the creeped out feeling ruins a session.

i'm actively looking for the issue at hand and about one session a week is all i give it so far. leaking?, bent? too aggressive? too loose ? too much depower? too tight? i don't know. maybe not enough rest!
