Ive seen the EH EZE at Sullis.........very flat, huge projected area...........BUT this Ovando may be worth a looksie.......................def liking the delta shape, alot like a stunter:thumbup::thumbup:............checkout the vid with the SA2 and the EH Beast and Ovando......................anyone fam with the kite as far as build quality, dealer support, and warranty?

this video has been said bullsh..t in the past on KF.com

first the white flysurfer is not 18m, that proves they know nothing.

second it's not a light wind day, sure above 15 knots

so all it proves: the FS SA2 19m has great depower !!!!

cant argue with you on the depower Buzz........................I got a kick out of the 18m as well..............the water texture says about 15mph but these kites do look impressive.......................I was looking at them more of a mid/high wind kite.....................

Not to mention that the video never shows the 7m overtaking like they claim. They show it behind and then cut to it being in front, but if you watch you go from seeing the underside of all three kites in the first portion (wind going from the camera toward the riders) and then you see the top of the kites in the next portion (wind coming toward the camera from the riders). When the 13 is passing he's got it low and working it while the Speed is high and cruising.

I think the beast is/was an 11m..........................no doubt the SA 2 is the low wind king with a Door...................I was thinking of higher wind applications like lower to mid/upper 20s................................was curious if anyone has seen or flown the Ovando..................the EZE here in Chaz flies well but it is FLAT.................

Maven454 - 7-7-2010 at 05:55 AM

You're right, it was an 11m, my bad.

too many variables, THE largest is rider skill,

kitesurf mag did an up wind comparison sometime ago and the outcome was always rider skill, not the rig. rider mass and board play a role but threshold power TO RIDE AT ALL is the critical point.

if the rider has enough wind to ride, THE MORE SKILLED RIDER WILL walk away if the threshold power to ride is meet. a lighter rider will be meet early with smaller kite and less drag.

the point really displayed here is not how great the 7M is but how a 19m can compete in same elements is true design efficiency. I would expect a smaller rider smaller kite to beat out a big fat kite. the fact that the big fat kite is on the 7m's back is impressive.

theres an EH dealer in Savannah/Tybee.......... was curious if youve seen one.................agree this validates the efficiency and depower of the 19 but again this wasnt meant to be a compare thread..........................Im thinking the Ovando may be a great 20 mph kite..................................not sure of the depower i.e the Slingshot Rev is outstanding..............

so it seems that the Ovando has got great low end per square meter. does this mean it gets quickly overpowered when the wind picks up, or does it just have a huge range? am looking to replace my ozone instinct light 10m which got me out from 15 to 30 knots!!!!! I am 75kgs

great question......with what Ive read and seen on the net at your weight the 7m might get you close to 30..............def get you going in 15...............not sure on the depower though but with only 10 inches of bar throw (25 cm) it may be limited on the top end...................Savannah/Tybee has a shop with the Ovando and Im thinking about a drive/demo if they do that............

I recently saw my first inflatable Ozone on the water at the local.................great lookin sail and very very stable...........
