Flexboardz pass around list

bigkid - 8-7-2010 at 10:45 PM

Well good news.......

EditI have the board now and am ready to pass it aroundEdit

I am going to keep the board for a few days and have a few locals try it out and then it's up for the grand tour around the Forum. If you are still interested in a tryout of the board, now is the time to sign up.
The regular rules apply, keep it for a few days to a week and ship it to the next one on the list. I will pay shipping and insurance to the 1st person and then each one will do the same to the next one on the list.
I would like to keep everything up front, email the next person on the list after you and set up the info needed to do the shipping and then let the forum know where it is and who has it.
Sorry, no newbies on the list. If you have previous ATB experience and have been around for a while, than chances you get to be on the list. You may even need a reference from an oldie on the forum.
Just don't want to end up with problems before the thing gets around to a few people.

erratic winds - 9-7-2010 at 12:56 AM

(I am only the first of many many people to see a flexboardz post at the top of the forum and do a double take that it's a recent one.)

WIllardTheGrey - 9-7-2010 at 01:18 AM

Color me suprised as well. Hope all goes well with the pass. Very intresting boards.

pigryder - 9-7-2010 at 06:40 AM

Ohhh ohhhh I wanna try :o

dgkid78 - 9-7-2010 at 06:45 PM

I would like to try it too. but I think i will wait for the list to get a little longer. Summer winds suck right now. Plus I am interested in how much it would cost to ship. :tumble:

stetson05 - 10-7-2010 at 09:35 AM

I am interested but I am also with dgkid78, I am wondering the cost of shipping. If you could give some dimentions and weight it would be helpful. I am betting even if the shipping is high I will never get another chance to try. Some wheels more designed for street might be good because of the lack of wind here right now.

bigkid - 10-7-2010 at 12:09 PM

Not sure of the shipping cost as it would be dependent on where it goes. I am hoping to get it by Thursday so I can bring it down to Long beach for the weekend.(going to sneak out, so say nothing to the wife or the doctor.)
I will post if I get it then and it will be up for anyone to demo that weekend.

Bladerunner - 10-7-2010 at 04:35 PM

If you get it is there a chance you can hold on to it until the North Beach event in Aug. ? Unfortunately that is the only other one I can make it to.
As before I would love to give it a try but don't want to hold up the pass and our park isn't good location to try it.

Flexboardz ARE HERE!!

Flexboardz USA - 12-7-2010 at 11:23 AM

Yes I'm happy to say that we have received our shipment and have been busy setting up dealers. Currently they are available through several dealers in Colorado, New York, and Texas. Jeff from Big Kid in Washington will be getting a board to pass around and I'll be out in California for a few weeks next month. Currently online Extreme Gravity Sports in Denver has 5 mendi's and Haize models, I believe that they have at least 1 of them on Ebay. They are at www.extremegravitysports.com , they will be setting up the site shortly with paypal and new pics and specs of the 2010 model.

arkay - 12-7-2010 at 01:12 PM

I want to try this fore sure. Ditto on getting one to north beach so long as we can get that cleared with napka

Yo bigkid nevermind, I dont need to try it and shipping is gonna be to much for me anyways..... Thanks for the opportunity

DAKITEZ - 13-7-2010 at 11:23 AM

Flex-

where abouts are you going to be in cali?

erratic winds - 13-7-2010 at 03:04 PM

Where are you guys located? Website design company is in Denver, and you don't usually choose people across the world to build your site..

Perhaps my googlefinger is broken, but extremegravitysports seems to only exist to sell Flexboardz... nor do they seem to have any sort of physical retail outlet...

I mean, I'm IN Denver. if I could walk into a place and actually ride one of these....maybe some of them would get sold. I don't know a single person who would even consider buying one of these without riding it, and that's currently the only way to buy it.

bigkid-If there is actually one in Denver for me to get a shot on, that would take me off the "pass the" list. I will keep you updated!

Drewculous - 14-7-2010 at 11:27 AM

:wee:

Scottsbluff, Ne

wow... kinda figured these never made it out of prototype stage... count me in!

bigkid - 8-9-2010 at 10:45 AM

OK, the list has been around for a while and it needs to be updated.
If you are still interested, let me know.
Shipping cost is about 30 to 40 bucks depending on where you are. I will send it out to the west coast first then let it work it's way east, or start in the east and let it work it's way back. Let me know.

arkay - 8-9-2010 at 10:56 AM

I'm interested but I hope to try it at SOBB. Didn't get a chance last weekend. Will you be down this weekend too?

bigkid - 8-9-2010 at 11:32 AM

arkay, you should have said something while I was there.
I will see if I can send it down with someone, I will let you know.

bigkid - 21-9-2010 at 06:34 AM

The board is ready to make its journey, any others who want to be on the list?

stetson05 - 21-9-2010 at 07:38 AM

If it isn't too much to ask I am interested. I shouldn't pass up the opportunity.

bigkid - 7-10-2010 at 07:01 AM

The board is off to stetson. Hope to hear somthing from you on your thoughts about the board.
Arkay are you next?

bigkid - 31-10-2010 at 07:14 AM

Stetson is ready to pass the board. Arkay are you next?
Then dgkid78,
and Drewculous?

bigkid - 3-11-2010 at 11:27 AM

Any others desire a try on this bad boy?

van - 3-11-2010 at 12:57 PM

Not sure if you can get it down to Houston, TX in time for DBBB (thanksgiving week) or not but if you do, I will take it to the event so others can try it out.

stetson05 - 3-11-2010 at 03:52 PM

I sure can if bigkid is ok with that. I finally got a session on it today and it was mighty fine. Lots to write about but I need some time to get it right.

bigkid - 3-11-2010 at 06:26 PM

OK van, your on. Stetson will pass it on to you as soon as he gets your info.

van - 3-11-2010 at 07:28 PM

I don't need it right away so you can get a few more sessions in. I guess if you ship it by the 18th or so, it should arrive here in time for DBBB week. Thanks.

I will try a couple more sessions on it but I will mail it off way before the 18th just to be safe. I have to be careful though. I rode it and my core 95 back to back and the flexboard spoiled me, very nice ride.

van - 19-11-2010 at 11:43 PM

I got the board in my hands today.. the thing looks cool in person .. freaking work of art and engineering. If you can make it to DBBB this coming week, let me know so I will make sure I am there on those days so you can try the board. I should be able to make it to DBBB this sunday the 21st. See y'all there.

bigkid - 12-12-2010 at 09:53 AM

The board is ready to travel to the next port in the storm of ATB's ;)

g-force junkie is next? or did I miss someone?

I know it has taken some time to move from one person to the next, but that's the good thing about it. Not a lot of interest this time of year and that means you get to spend a bit more time with the board.

van - 12-12-2010 at 10:26 AM

I wish I can hold on to it longer  but it does deserve to go to someone else to try out. I sure will miss it !! Until I get my own that is :spin:

g-force junkie - 14-1-2011 at 05:46 PM

Just want to reiterate that the board is in Colorado and I know it's a tough sell with all the snow but the Front Range should be open for boarding, I got out on it once in between storms and it was really loose at speed so took it home and found everything was loose, tightened everything but still think the trucks need to be tighter maybe Bigkid could offer some expertise as to stiffening the deck heel to toe.

bigkid - 14-1-2011 at 07:53 PM

Not sure what you mean, are you using it for down hill?

van - 14-1-2011 at 09:38 PM

It does feel different then a regular board but I didn't think it felt loose. I guess if you rode it downhill it would feel loose since you are not fighting a kite. Also, it's probably different on Texas sand compare to Colorado grass

bigkid - 15-1-2011 at 06:20 PM

Not sure of Colorado grass, but Maui grass...would definitely be different than Taxes sand

g-force junkie - 15-1-2011 at 06:44 PM

Hey,
Sorry I could not read the replies cuz for some reason I can't get to the end of the thread but no I'm not using it downhill, I'm using it with my 10 and 8 Venoms on dry grass, but my point is that on my mbs board I have the trucks set real stiff and it takes some pressure to transition from heel to toe, but on the flex the deck rocks back and forth very easily and maybe its to much rider input being used to the stiffer trucks, will try again and relax the input to the board a little

van - 15-1-2011 at 07:02 PM

Hey G,

I think I know what you mean ... the board is design for carving so it takes a little getting used to. Lucky for me, I never did get used to the stiffer trucks on my Scrub so really enjoyed the looser response of the Flexboardz. Once you get used to it, you'll like the way it can do figure 8's :singing: . I wonder if you can put miniature dampeners on their like on sportbikes.

bigkid - 13-2-2011 at 08:14 AM

The board is in CO. at the moment, I believe.
Anyone want to try the board prior to NABX?
I will have a few of the Haize with me at NABX for anyone to try out, or purchase off site ya know. I have one with bindings and one without bindings, I like to just cruise and to be able to step way with out falling on my face

g-force junkie - 23-2-2011 at 04:42 PM

Flexboardz has now been passed to Flash, you guy's and gal's are going to love this board, you can go as fast as you want and no speed wobble, plus it rolls on rough sod like a dream.

flexboardz - 7-3-2011 at 03:48 PM

sorry guys, for some reasons, I was unable to read the second page of the post...

Yes, there is a way to make the board stiffer heel to toes (riders used to regular mtb often feel that the board is not stiff enough) : You can use rubber dampener (see below)

However, when they get used to the Flexboardz, generally riders do not use them anymore
NB: rubber dampeners are not included in the box of the present production

kalaigor - 30-3-2011 at 08:08 AM

Can anyone make a comparison between this (Flexboardz) and a Dirtsurfer? Preferably somebody that has used both? :-)

I would like to get one or the other for use with a newly acquired Kitewing and don't know which way to go. I am primarily interested in the performance/use as I am aware of the pricing...

Thanks!!

g-force junkie - 6-5-2011 at 03:54 PM

Hey, anybody know what happened to the board after I passed it to Flash? Should have some miles on it by now.

bigkid - 6-5-2011 at 07:03 PM

Sorry for the laps in the brain dept. Been working on a buggy mod for resale....long story.

The board is in my dirty hands, are you or anyone interested in trying it out?

stetson05 - 6-5-2011 at 07:09 PM

I would like to try it. :saint:

flexboardz - 7-5-2011 at 02:06 AM

don't forget to post pics of the different places of the test tour (it makes me traveling for cheap :) )

Come to my Kite Festival in Quincy over Memorial Day weekend, and you can take it home for a test drive.
On another note, (I will hijack my post) did you post the NAPKA event at Quincy?

Yup, I posted something http://www.napka.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=276 but I haven't gotten much of a response. I sent an email to bbrex about paperwork and haven't got a response.
