long day of my life (non-kiting - iphone happy)

ripsessionkites - 30-7-2010 at 01:16 PM

just released in canada today the iphone 4, shuttup all your american luck SOBs.

even with the troubles i still wanted one.

got my arse up out of bed with Kitebuggy Mama at 615am and headed to the mall by 700am. mall opens at 930am, and we got in line being the 9th person. with only 18 units per store available we got it. at 1200pm we finally walked out with 2 phones. the longest non-productive day EVER.

the mac store had 2000 people already lined up for it.

i swear to NEVER do this again. :saint:

We are going to hold you to this you know!! :D
Hey we visited Canada last week. We hiked up from VT. into Quebec. Nice place to cross the boarder illegally!! But we did go to the boarder post and get our pass ports stamped for the fun of it!

Seriously? The last time I have done anything remotely like that was waiting the better part of 24 hours for Genesis concert tickets in college. Of course this takes on a whole new meaning when the winter winds blow through the wind tunnel like structures surrounding the stadium. Below a certain temperture all types of interesting "reindeer games" get spontaneously invented to pass the time. The same used to be true of winter camping.

Walk, drive, whatever for long distances, but they whole waiting in line thing just doesn't have the same charm it used to. Can't think of many things I would do that for these days.

ATB,
Sam

lol, yah its sweet ... smaller but not thinner. the screen res is BEAUTIFUL. i covered all three strips with my fingers and only 1 bar disappeared. however I can go to the Apple store, to get a free bumper however I wasnt going to get into another mall 20 mins away, than wait in another line with some angry customers who missed (probably).

32 gig sold out to the first 3 customers who bought 2 units each.

our Vancouver Service (fido / rogers) now offers a promo like two years back $30.00 for 6 gigs.

i only wished FaceTime was data too or Skype Mobile can do video.

who wants to be my first FaceTime call. hehehe.

Hah, sounds like the s*#t!

I want the new iphone too but am not hard core enough to drag my weary bones out of bed at the start of a sunny summer day and stand in line outside of an urban mall. Will just have to bide my time.

I'm so glad I'm a low tech guy. I have trouble with this pc. I would never figure one of those phones out!!:dunno:

just wonder ... i know in the USA that you guys / gals have unlimited data plans. is there an extra cost for your internet tethering too? an added data plan? borrowed from current data amount (if any)?

Maven454 - 2-8-2010 at 03:43 AM

Actually, AT&T got rid of the unlimited data plan. And yes, there's an extra charge to tether.

You should see my 2 year old neice whip through the menus to look at pictures, play games, etc. She's not just fumbling through it either. It's cute when she flicks her finger across the screen to go to the next menu/picture. So Blade you probably DO already know how.

RonH - 2-8-2010 at 08:03 AM

You should have seen ricardo with his new baby... put away in a sleeve and all - wonder how long before it's just tossed in with the rest of the stuff

ragden - 2-8-2010 at 07:26 PM

I do have the unlimited plan, as I was grandfathered in on my old plan. Now my wife.. she is stuck with the limited plan as she got her phone a little bit later... heh.

iPhone requires extra $$$ to tether, but I can tether my droid at no cost, :P If I knew how to I could probably hack into Norad with this thing. LOL iPhones are pretty and all, but I never really cared for Apple, and Jobs ditching Adobe Flash has only made me love my droid more.
