I have the NOAA forecast page and windfinder for the iphone, but there have definitely been days where the wind was up, but neither seemed to show it.
And I know somebody has better intel than I do, because on those days when the wind is high, all the kite surfers show up in force.

I'm in the same boat, I haven't flown in weeks, and the last time I flew it was so light I got bored trying to keep a 13m in the air....frustrating.
