I am looking for a good used ARC that I can use to get out on the water for
the first time. Got anything?
Here are some important details... I am 185 pounds, an intermediate flyer on snow skis and Coyote Rollerblades, and fly mostly depower foils. I will
fly in northeastern Wisconsin on inland lakes with average winds in the 8 to 15 mph range. I plan on borrowing a board or, more likely, plan on giving
kite skis a crack. I have not flown an ARC yet and just plan on basic riding. No tricks yet!
I don't buy junk, I have a perfect buy/sell reputation here and on e-Bay and usually wait until the right combination of quality, condition and price
comes along.
Also looking for a large wetsuit, helmet and maybe an impact vest.
Call me crazy:tumble:, but the ice won't be on the lakes for a long time and I really don't want to wait until next May to get my feet wet.:wee:
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

get a flysurfer speed 2 or 3 17m
imo

I have a 19m Venom that is exactly what I would ride with in those winds. It isn't as scary as it sounds and would have the torque to get you out of
the water and if you get on frozen stuff with some snow on it. Excellent autozenith too. I have a picture of my 15 year old son flying it while
sitting in a beach chair. I've been toying with selling the kite but haven't listed it. Let me know if you might be interested.

Thanks for the insight, gents.
Venom vs Vortex. Your two cents?
What do you figure top end for wind speed would be on the 19m before I end up visiting one of the coasts?
Kamikuza - 2-9-2010 at 05:36 PM
Vortex is lower AR so better for beginners ... but I haven't heard anyone moan about Venoms :O
PHREERIDER - 2-9-2010 at 05:46 PM
alot of range , vortex i think is lower AR, didn't check, but, quicker turning , sits further back in the window.
the venom16/19 will do better up wind, park and ride 12mph-18mph
V19 is a good start with alot punch in low wind like 10-12mph, plenty if bar pressure to hang on.

Hi Thanson,
I just sold a Synergy and still have this 19m Venom for sale. Its been my "gentle giant" for couple of years now. I equate it to a diesel truck - lot
of grunt and nice, predictable acceleration. Hate to let it go but trading up requires some sacrifice. U2U me if interested and I can Email you some
photos. the kite is blue and yellow.
Not trying to block Beamer bob, he is a great seller and a friend, but since this was already listed, thought I would let you know about it.

Mel, I forgot yours was for sale. :embarrased: I certainly didn't mean to step on your toes or jump in front of you. I'll step aside humbly and take
mine out of the picture. I was just thinking that the 19 would be perfect, so I do stand behind what I said that the 19 would be a go to kite for
body weight and conditions if hanson is interested in an arc.
Indeed Mel is a friend and he takes care of his stuff. Buy with confidence. His is ready to fly as well and you won't find one RTF for a better
price.

Todd.
You live in Appleton? I paddle at the Wasusau Whitewater park at least once year. And my buddy owns Velocity Kiteboarding. Every year they host a
Kite Jam in Green Bay. It would be cool to meet you there this winter. Green Bay is great for water kiting as well. Lots of nice places around you.
Here in MN, I pretty much only ride my 19 PL. Don't be scared of a 19. They sound big, but we're talking arcs. With the kites listed in your sig,
you won't have any problems with that kite in our midwest conditions. Great kite.

@Rudeboysaude - yes, I am in Appleton.
Would love to connect and play. Stay in touch.

If I remember right dylanj423 has an impact vest harness he might be willing to part with.

Thanks for the lead. Couldn't find the impact vest harness from dylanj423. I will search a little more though.
