Looks like a giant doomwheels with a seat! I imagine the wipeouts would be spectacular!(and often for me!)

Pic #3 makes it look like the rider could benefit from a belly pan... or Buns of Steel

Looking very good Ruudje, pity we have to use a kite and not an engine to power it lol....

I have often wondered with kite bikes, some times its a trek from the car to the fly zone, with buggies we just pull them....how do you go on towing kite bikes onto the playa

Kite Bike Records

Is the Bike Record soon to be in the bag now Ruudje...Record breaking three wheel and two wheel buggy in your stable....hope Arjen Stephan and Ozzy have been practicing....

41 mph will do it

By the way, I have my first look closely at the Apexx last weekend at Pembrey, of course I have seen photos, but it was good to have a close look around the buggy, Adrian offered me a go in it, but I was enjoying my own buggy so much, which has had very little beach time so far.

I was very impressed with the engineering around the rear axle/side rails...that is a brilliant well thought out idea, and the front axle plate, at first I thought it was cast, but under a closer look realized those parts are all welded together, looks bloody good, I really liked that, in fact the whole buggy is sweet Ruudje, you and Ozzy certainly know your stuff for sure, not that it was ever in doubt, you have enough people copying your work, so that alone tells you, you have something special.

When I was sat in it, it felt......."GOOD", you know the feeling, you can sit in a hundred different buggies and 70% will feel OK, 24% will be down right uncomfortable, 5% will fit like a glove.....and 1%....will what I call "FEEL GOOD" , and even though the rails were a bit too wide for me, I got that feeling I was sitting in something special. I was surprised the headstock area was not more substantial, but there have obviously been no problems there, I have often thought a 20mm headstock bolt is a massive overkill for that area, but I like a weighty front end anyway so a 20mm set up suits my needs and saves having to add weight.

Top Tidy Buggy and now a Top Kite Bike...well done 10/10 my friend.....one day we will meet up I hope

ripsessionkites - 18-9-2010 at 01:15 AM

so much for that record ... NABX 2011 will hold the new speed record on the XXtreme A-Cycle powered by the PL Vapor II, and the crazy driver title will go to : Arie van der Tol

PS. looking forward to the test drive in 4 days and counting :wee:
