So I finally had my PC upgraded to a case that won't over heat. Had them install a Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler, now running at a solid 34c, want to
upgrade my GPU from my Nvidia 8800gt 500gb to something in the new 400 series but will have to wait for at least till Christmas. With it at least
running smooth, I went out and bought myself a copy of Dragon Age Origins as I've wanted to try it for quite some time. I'm wondering if any of you
have or still do play it??? Haven't installed yet as I'm still completing updates from upgrading from vista to win7. Just curious to know how well my
system will run it and what your opinions of the game are?? I'm really waiting to get a copy of Two Worlds 2 when it comes out but that will also have
to wait for a bit. Here is what my system looks like::
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
AMD Athalon 64X2 6000+
3GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT
Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion

i really liked that game, i spent a lot of time playing it when it first came out... i have only two gripes with it (and the first one wont really
affect you, cuz you are playing on the PC and not the ps3/xbox)
1. In order to get all the trophies, you have to play the complete game like 3 times (minimum! assuming you are really handy with the save/loads; in
addition, you must play the first hour or so, 6 times over iirc, so you can get all the intro stories)
- i try to get trophies when i can, and by time i landed on a character build i liked, i had no desire to sink another 100+hours into it
2. a band i liked back in the day, continues to sell their souls at every possible chance that crosses their path!! 30 seconds to mars was a no name
band that put out like 2 or 3 just great cd's back when..... then someone thought the lead singer was hot... so now they pump out crap after crap
song, just to get his face out there.... sunkist.... dang... how the mighty have fallen
They have one of their crap-tunes play on repeat over the credits............:flaming:
sorry for the rant! the game is lots of fun, it'll soak up days if you let it, and it is worth the purchase price imo... you know its a winner if you
get a trophy for each member of your party you can nab in the sack!! The commentary between certain characters as you play is priceless! In one of
the expansions, you find a stone golem, and he'll join your party if you play your cards right, i think his name was Shale, anyway, put him and
Alistair in your party, and they bicker the whole time... pretty good game all around!!

It's a very good RPG and continues the spirit of Baldur's Gate.
Be prepared to spend a LOT of time getting immersed into the story - the hallmark of a good, classic RPG.

When you get to the part where the the healer/cleric NPC offers to join your party, say YES even if you don't want her. If you say no you can't get
her to join you later and she's an important for the story. I got 30+ hours into the game and told her no because my character was a healer only to
find out I need to start over now.
