i've just read about the power kiting , it seems great

what do i need (as a beginner) to start power kiting or kite jumping ... ?

what's the best kite to begin with ?

First you need a kite, lines and handles... maybe a harness and some crash pads/helmet. Then you need a clear place to fly, smooth wind, and the time
to invest in really learning to fly very well before trying such things as kite jumping. This sport really requires a lot of skill and comes with the
highest level of risk of all kite traction sports. Many folks don't recommend it at all.
Kites range quite a bit in price depending on size and quality. There are some great quadline foils on the market between $200-300 for a 3-4 sqm wing.
JoJo and Flexifoil make some good ones.
There are many stores online. Do a Google search for ["quad-line foil" + kites for sale]. Above all, I suggest Into The Wind Kites: http://www.intothewind.com

See if you can find anyone local to you who will let you have a go (most peeps will) so you can get an idea what you want.
Failing this quite a few specialist kite shops will let you try a kite(s) or even offer some instruction (at a small price). One of my local shops

Hi mate. I have been flying two liners for some years but have just bought my first quad liner. I am forty years old and should know better but have
just got a 4.9 mt Blade.
i think this may be a little too big having just nearly killed myself !!!! Start with two lines for ease, something like a flexifoil super 10. good

I dont mean to contradict anyone here, but I would recommend not starting with a 2 line. If your going to end up flying quad line, start that way.
Start with something smaller. If you want lift, which I think you do. You can buy a Flexifoil Blade. Its pretty much the only kite on handles other
than the Bego (which are hard to come by) that you will jump with. I would start with a 3 meter. This will be a good choice to start with because of
the size, but its still a great kite for higher winds once you get some experience under your belt. Your next step up would be probably a 4.9 meter
blade. All flexifoil kites come with kite, handles, (or bar but not recommended for beginners) lines, and rucksack. Build quality is awesome and
you will have your kites for years. Not only this, but the Blades are such good allaround kites you can do any kite related sport with them and do it
well. The only thing you really cant do is re-launch from water if you decide to get into kiteboarding. Im my personal openion, this is the best
all-rounder made.
