OK. Yup, I have read alot but still have a few questions about this giant kite thing.
I can buy a big kite a launch it; jump off a giant dune and "fly" through the air? I'm in 
How high do these "kites" fly? Are there regulations as to where/when/how high they can be flown? I have seen kitesurfing but I spend a lot of time
on the beach surffishing in Delaware (USA) and have to admit I want to hold a kite with that kind of power. Maybe just the rig and handles - just for
"jumping" right? I'd take lessons for boarding if I wanted that I think.
Anyhow, if any of you kids have a good idea where to go to get one on the East Coast (NYC, NJ, DE, MD, VA), it'd be rad if ya shared.
BTW, I first starting reading about power kites in an article on kite-boats. I have a Civil Engineering degree and was pretty amazed from the start.
Thought about building one??? But they seem reasonably priced.

Nope, power kites do not "fly" you to altitude, those are referred to as Parasails. You can, however, jump quite high off the ground, with totally
unpredictable results, with a power kite. I recommend soft sand, full body armor (Moto-X type), and no spectators other than the ambulance crew.
As to where to buy powerkites, there are numerous kite stores in the Eastern U.S. who sell these things, or you can order online from any number of
stores; for sheer expertise and all-round knowledge and support before, during, and after the sale, I would recommend WindPower Sports of Las Vegas.
The owner/operator, Corey Jensen, is a past president of the American Kitefliers Association, and taught many of us to buggy. Significant is the fact
that most of us who graduated from the Corey-Lama's school of buggy have not spent any time in hospital from kite- or buggy-related accidents. Safety
