realy sorry about the nasty picture but hope you can see what im geting at. i had my first go on my land board and not to sure im doing it rite. as i
thought the picture ive attached was how your ment to use the board, with the wind on your back you should be able to travel left and rite?? but
insted im being pulled of the board and end up running with the wind, if you get what i mean, ive used a d.v.d to help but its hard to understand what
its trying to say... could realy do with some help. im using a 3m ozone flow if that makes a differance.

Start out with the board pointed toward the kite then carve back up wind.

And put your feet out in front of ya between you and the kite. You need to lean back against the pull of the kite.

is there in minimun abount of wind i will need to fly a 3m with a board?

If the kite is deep in the power zone you will get a HUGE downwind boost.
The trick is to combine that movement from the original downwind rush and the power you have at the edge of the window.
Give the kite a SMALL ( depending on the wind ) dip and get moving . On the second dive of the kite you can work at traveling cross wind. Fly the
kite in a sine ~ wave and take advantage of the pump / power to try and maintain upwind if it won't " park and ride " . Try and gain ground on each
pump . Just try and hold ground as you send the kite back up.
Bend your knees get low and lean back. Far better to go back ( with a helmet ) that over the top.
You probably need 15mph + wind with a 3m ? If the wind is too low accept that you won't stay up wind. Get creative and work on generating more power ,
looping etc + just riding and turning. Enjoy the ride , hook in and walk back to do it again!

When I was first starting BigSiler put me on his 3M samurai in about 10-12mph on hardpac sand. That was enough to stay up wind and get the feel for
the board and kite.

Yep...just made my second day on the landboard today and they are right. Point downwind to start (I had the same problem as you my last session) and
as soon as you are rolling good lean back and carve cross wind. Someone ( I think it was WeldnGod) told me to practice jumping out of the bindings
static....Definitely a skill worth practicing. Keep at it you will get it.
As far as kite size I don't know your surface or size but I flew a 5m today (10-15mph, 205lbs, long grass) and it was not so big as to be intimidated
but large enough to lean back against to start getting the feel.
