What? No trash talk yet! Lets have some fun!

shehatesmyhobbies - 1-10-2010 at 06:57 PM

O.K. lets get it started. If you have some trash talking to do, then get it done. Have fun, let it out, challenge someone! I am sure we can arrange a couple of challenges if needed.

It's almost GO time!

stetson05 - 1-10-2010 at 07:00 PM

I challenge the wind gods to a duel. BRING ON THE WIND!!

shehatesmyhobbies - 1-10-2010 at 07:02 PM

I hear ya Stetson! We all challenge them to a one on one!

I did that once and lost. That's why I left the blood stains on the kite that I was flying at the time. I prefer a more symbiotic (sp?) relationship now:smilegrin:

shehatesmyhobbies - 1-10-2010 at 07:44 PM

Mark I challenge you to find a spot this sweet to park your buggy at WW.

Todd - 1-10-2010 at 07:53 PM

Oooof! Cheesy, you gonna take that?

cheezycheese - 1-10-2010 at 08:06 PM

oh, you had to go there... :P that's alright, it's not beneath me to supply a laugh at my own expense...:D:D:D

Todd - 1-10-2010 at 08:10 PM

Rian put us up to it...

indigo_wolf - 1-10-2010 at 09:04 PM

Oh wait.... never mind. I misunderstood. :sniff: :sniff:

ATB,

Maven454 - 2-10-2010 at 05:50 AM

I challenge Todd to lose a race to me, up and down the beach. Read that carefully. Yes, you read that right, I'm implying that it would be difficult for him to lose to me

csa_deadon - 2-10-2010 at 06:20 AM

Low Pressure SUCKS!!!
High Pressure BLOWS!!!

WELDNGOD - 2-10-2010 at 05:31 PM

Don't make me take that thing away from you and start doing wheelies with it down the beach:P

WELDNGOD - 2-10-2010 at 06:01 PM

your gonna have to catch me first...:frog:

rocfighter - 2-10-2010 at 06:13 PM

No catching nessisary for us slow guys. I'll just wait for you to come running back buy again!!

kteguru - 2-10-2010 at 06:19 PM

Actually I'll just wait for you to do one of those cool upwind OBE's and I'll just jump in :P:moon:

WELDNGOD - 2-10-2010 at 06:36 PM

might be hotwired :ninja:

kteguru - 2-10-2010 at 06:38 PM

OK, I guess I'll have to wait my turn to try it :(

WELDNGOD - 2-10-2010 at 06:41 PM

Don't worry ,so far my version of turning around is more like a controlled crash:karate:

kteguru - 2-10-2010 at 06:47 PM

Does the back end not break loose and slide around when you go to turn?? Or is it that breaking the back end loose and staying upright don't work well together:wee:

WELDNGOD - 2-10-2010 at 06:57 PM

hard to explain. It has been modded today to change geometry a little. tomorrow I will check er out again . end of hijack ..... sorry

even towing his buggy by his walk of shame line it would be difficult for Todd to lose!:wow:

If we get some nice winds off the ocean I beleive your flying pillowcases will no longer have the advantage:moon:. Errrr,,,,,ummmm,,,,,,, if its coming over the buildings could I borrow one of your pillowcases:rolleyes::lol:

Todd - 2-10-2010 at 07:21 PM

If we get some nice winds off the ocean and you believe my flying pillowcase will no longer hold the advantage, then I may have a trick or 3 up my sleeve.

kteguru - 2-10-2010 at 07:29 PM

I believe I've prepared myself for that eventuality:P

Todd - 2-10-2010 at 07:32 PM

The only way you'll see that again mate is if lead boy is on the back of my buggy again. Sorry about that Rian, I'll get the number of that bus for you:P

Oh, I don't know, as heavy as his buggy is, and as light as mine is, I'm pretty sure I can out run him if we're towing the buggies on a walk of shame.

I honestly think I would pay to see that. :wee:

WELDNGOD - 3-10-2010 at 06:37 AM

Dean taking it away from me? or Dean doing wheelies in it?

Maven454 - 3-10-2010 at 06:53 AM

Dean doing wheelies.

bobalooie57 - 3-10-2010 at 08:04 AM

Yeah Maven, I guess you're right. I was thinking if Todd were walking/towing, and you were riding/flying, Todd would win hands down. But If you were both towing, I guess you would prolly win!

WELDNGOD - 3-10-2010 at 02:28 PM

I say we have a contest ..... :eureka: yeah , a contest to see who can stay on 2 wheels the longest.

bobalooie57 - 3-10-2010 at 03:08 PM

O.K. but there has to be at least two 180 deg. turns!:bigok:

I'm afraid Dan would have that one locked up WG. The auto-camber on his PL folder allows endless miles of effortless 2 wheel action. Even at speeds far in excess of 40mph. Definately a sight to behold:wee:

WELDNGOD - 3-10-2010 at 04:03 PM

Yeah , but what goes up has to come down . I'll be 2 wheels ALL the time.

bobalooie57 - 3-10-2010 at 04:06 PM

Except when your over on your side!:o:shocked2::bouncing:;-)

Maven454 - 3-10-2010 at 04:06 PM

Except when you fall over.

WELDNGOD - 3-10-2010 at 04:07 PM

Which is every time I turn around:lol::lol:

bobalooie57 - 3-10-2010 at 04:08 PM

But man, you get there fast!

ragden - 4-10-2010 at 06:10 AM

This thread delivers. :)

Dont have anything else really worth adding, unfortunately. It'll be fun to see who does what when the time comes... Real question is, who is going to be the first one to put their kite in the drink, and will we actually see anyone follow their kite into the drink (happened a few years back to a land-boarder, or was that last fall?).

If I had the straps to do it, i might actually try jumping my buggy, but I dont have the straps to do it safely. :)

bobalooie57 - 4-10-2010 at 06:20 AM

You know, if the wind is blowin' out, my kite will prolly find ocean! But then it's likely only to be a rag on a string!:bird:

I'll join you for a little buggy jumping:thumbup:. Only with a nice consistant wind though as I don't bounce well anymore:smilegrin:. I have an extra hotwire if you need it also. Can't wait to get back to WW.:wee::wee:

My prediction says Maven, like a moth to a light.

Maven454 - 4-10-2010 at 11:38 AM

I may (not really sure) have been the first one to put my kite in the water that day, but I wasn't anywhere close to the last. In fact, I seem to recall a certain elongated air mattress hitting the water as well.

Todd - 4-10-2010 at 11:53 AM

You're correct; it was Greg "Mr. X" flying my Venom. Personally if I were the kite I wouldn't want him flying me either:evil:

Maven454 - 4-10-2010 at 12:08 PM

I'm pretty sure you managed to put one in the water too. Nice try on shifting all the blame though.

Todd - 4-10-2010 at 12:48 PM

 who me?

kteguru - 4-10-2010 at 01:33 PM

At least those things are water relaunchable. The rest of us have to drag our "anchor" out and dry it off:lol:

Maven454 - 4-10-2010 at 01:34 PM

I actually got my 4m Flow to relaunch the first time, it was the second occasion that it turned into a sea anchor :wee:.

WELDNGOD - 4-10-2010 at 01:41 PM

Mike ,i'll bring ya some straps. And I put a kite in the drink last fall. Might happen again....:shocked2:

shehatesmyhobbies - 4-10-2010 at 02:18 PM

Ditto on the swimming kite. My Bullet ended up in the drink for a quick second. Trailing edge down thankfully. Was able to launch it pretty quick!

But I can definitely let the odds go with Maven putting his in first. I would rather keep mine dry!

ragden - 6-10-2010 at 05:46 AM

Hehe. I recall seeing quite a few kites in the drink, though I couldnt say how many. Fortunately, we didnt have anyone get dragged into the water by their kite. That did happen one year though, and it was HILARIOUS. I'm sure someone still has pictures of that particular individual heading out into the water....

Todd - 6-10-2010 at 05:55 AM

I remember Jake taking down a kite in the water and then having to be rescued by Brian's ex (can't recall the name)

Who got dragged in :puzzled:

ragden - 6-10-2010 at 05:58 AM

Don't recall if this was the fall bash last year, or the year before that (might have been two years back), but there was a certain individual flying a 5m Beamer III on handles while trying to landboard. His stance was not very good, and he eventually went over on his stomach. Kite powered up and dragged him straight into the water... he kept flying the kite, but eventually crashed it leading edge down into the water right before he went in... head first.

As I recall, he was fine, just soaked from head to toe. Kite was fine too, though a wee bit wet... :)

Todd - 6-10-2010 at 06:45 AM

Oh yeah, this guy at 1:30 and 3:15! I think I still have his number in my old cell phone. Wonder what ever happened to him?

On of LBJ's videos http://www.vimeo.com/4045415

Definitely wasn't last fall. We didn't have any days where the wind was blowing towards the water.

shehatesmyhobbies - 6-10-2010 at 12:41 PM

I don't know who that guy was, but Joe was screaming!

bluefunelement - 12-10-2010 at 09:50 AM

Landboarding competitions?
most spins
highest jump with landing

anyone who can pull of this recreation?

shehatesmyhobbies - 12-10-2010 at 10:03 AM

From the sound of your post blue, It is going to be fun getting some video of you racking up some air time!

ragden - 12-10-2010 at 10:45 AM

Yeah, the guy at 3:26 was the one who wound up in the water... :)
that was a fun day on North Beach... :)

It's not about the air as much the style - of which I have none :smug:

But I was happy to learn these last weekend considering it was my first weekend on a landboard in a year and only 2nd in 18months
