Got my greedy mitts on the XK demo Manta M3 8m and took it for a spin on 13th beach in the buggy. Winds were a bit too light for an 8m Manta (10-13
knots). Needed a tad more. Lovely kite this - beautifully made, backpacS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s a work of art. Flys very smooth with excellent depower.
Pretty lifty too - not in 13 knots though! Doesn't really have the low down grunt for park 'n ride style buggying, but then I don't think the Manta
was designed with the buggyer in mind. Had to keep working the kite to keep my speed up - 14-15 knots would have been sweet. I like the fact it
takes a little while to inflate - makes for a gentle launch. And boy, does it go upwind. A very enjoyable afternoon buggying till sunset. Please
enjoy video: Buggying with the Manta
ps: thanks to Kitepower & XK for the demoTodd - 8-10-2010 at 08:55 PM
Wow, very nice video John. Would like very much to share some of that sand you ride on and absolutely some great film work with the camera angles.John Holgate - 8-10-2010 at 09:33 PM
Thanks Todd. I attached a GoPro flat mount plate to a plastic handle which now gives me a reasonable way of holding it - sort of a GoPro pistol grip!
Gotta get me a kite mount!! I think Kami has got some software he uses to keep the horizon level (for his kite mounted vids) - the frame rotates
instead - a very neat trick!Spartan - 9-10-2010 at 03:06 PM

Very Very cool John! You've done a great job of showing why we love what we love, the sunset and all. Great music too, I'm assuming that's yours as
well from the credits. John Holgate - 10-10-2010 at 10:17 PM

Thanks Pokitetrash. Finally finding a use for all these songs I've had laying about! Enjoyed your kiting photos too!
