gettin a round-tuit --soft seat upgrade

treblehook - 9-10-2010 at 03:00 PM

Dead Bird Buggy Bash is getting nearer . Figured I better get going on the home brew big foot light.Got the rear axle,forks and swan neck done today. Using carbon steel, schedule 40 pipe .The front forks are a 10" pipe hanger inverted. Heavy primer and an epoxy
paint finish, i hope will hold up to the Texas Gulf Coast Salt.
I will update with pics:smilegrin:Herb:smilegrin:

* phew *

At first glance it looked like the fork were the size of a truck with that boat in the background :lol:

Nice work. A buggy build is still on my list...just waiting until I get off my duff and buy myself my very own Round Tuit.

Hey Herb
I too am in full buggy rebuild mode, don't know if I will get it powder coated in time, might have to go bare steel until I know I don't have any mods left after DBBB. I too hope to meet my deadline for DBBB. Still crossing my fingers. Still have some fabrication and a good bit of welding left to do.

I here ya Brad. Don't have to be pretty , just function able.
In bowling , an ugly Brooklyn strike still counts as 10.
Still contemplating a fabric seat or a store bought .
any way we will see ya'll down there.

grind-ed off the old hard seat, patched up the side rails, and on with the new seat. fit like a glove..will have to see what the winds are going to do next week end...hope for se 15 so I can get to Galveston for a test ride....Nice work on the seat Van.
might need to get you to make some side rail covers.

Looks nice, I have plenty of rail covers made. I got a set that I used once at NABX so it got a little playa dust you can have for free. You might have to pay for the dust though, it's valuable these days :P
