Geese, Geese, and more dang Geese!!!!

Cheddarhead - 11-10-2010 at 05:55 PM

I don't know if I'm the only one who finds these pesty critters annoying, but every year from around now till the snow flies, these birds really make a complete mess of all my favorite kite places. They really seem to zero in on every soccer field in a 100 mile radius. The droppings get on the shoes, gets on the kites and in some instances gets on the clothes with an occasional fall. Cant seem to figure out why there are so many stupid geese that just won't fly south for the winter! There's literally hundreds that just like to stay here all year long. I know that it's their home too, but it just gets really old after awhile. Anybody else have bird issues at their flying spots.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now! Had to vent.

They seem to have no problem visiting us here in DE. But with the amount of protected wetlands around here, we are not going to get rid of them any time soon! They have been hitting our flying fields as well!

WELDNGOD - 11-10-2010 at 06:08 PM

I wish they would have went extinct. There is goose crap in every grass field in town, so I don't even bother w/ fields anymore. years ago you never saw them ,now they are everywhere.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! splash... splash... splash....:lol::lol::evil:

 Good one Nick! Maybe I should hit the drawing board my self to make Goose deflector bumper! Sort of like they put on trains to protect them from wildlife!

I think I'm ready for the gun mount mod for the buggy, one hand on the kite bar and one on the trigger.

I think I feel better already, knowing that I'm not alone. Thanks guys. Kinda like therapy, but cheaper.

:dunno:

pokitetrash - 12-10-2010 at 08:40 AM

I fly in a well used polo field so I def feal your pain! No geese here but you can't be too careful and NEVER EVER NEVER EVER ride with your mouth open, especially if you don't use a "mud" guard.

rocfighter - 13-10-2010 at 03:28 AM

At least horse crap is solid and can be seen for the most part. Goose is slimy sticky crap and is invisible until you step on it and your feet slip out from under you and you fall on your butt in yet another vile pile.
Best weapon wrist rocket with 1/4 inch steel balls. No sound and very effective at dispering one at a time.

Amen to that!
