Anyone going to hit the water with me at WWB?

Frathouse - 12-10-2010 at 09:09 AM

I'm planning on bringing my boards and riding the waves if the winds are right and its not to cold! I know its sacrilege at a buggy bash but addictions are hard to break:roll:. I'm bringing my landboard and buggy too it's gonna be a full car...Can't wait!!

I might be able to - hoping to recreate this amazing Alex Brown move -

I will definitely watch you try that... winds would have to be off shore though kinda sketchy.

Might be fun if you tried the reverse a water to land transition!!!

Def.get it on vid if you try it! I'd also like to see someone get towed on a skimboard by a buggy/kite like the vid someone posted a while back!

Brad,

Craig and myself will hit the surf with you if conditions are right.

You know... i brought my boards last time, but winds were not exactly conducive to riding on the water. I'll bring them gain. If the conditions setup right, maybe I'll give it a shot... No promises. :)

Currently my favorite water to land transition.

At around time index ~1:56.

The whole video is definitely watch worthy, though.

High praise from a landlubber.

Sam

I bet the tidal pools will be invigorating this time of year! I ALWAYS seem to find the deepest one...:ticking:

I need to ask one of you water guys to teach me "self rescue!"

ragden - 13-10-2010 at 10:25 AM

One year, I went into a particularly deep one that actually submerged most of the buggy I was in at the time (and it was a BigFoot). I swear it didnt look that deep when I approached it.

On the plus side, I will say that there are not that many "tidal pools" at wildwood. Or there wasnt much when I was there last. Conditions may have changed but the only place we really see these kinds of things forming is on North Beach. While this isnt a bad area to ride, being on the southern area is much more fun in my opinion.

One more week, and we'll be there... See ya soon.

My 7 day countdown has now begun! Be on my way next Wed, sometime after lunch!:singing: If I had a wetsuit, I would give it a try!

That shouldn't stop you - if your flying on the beach and high tide rolls up - head out -sans wetsuit if need be -

Thursday seems like the wind is strong enough for kiteboarding (15mph), but the direction is offshore.
