That is totally cool! What's the learning curve for that ?
It looks like it's pretty stable with those fatty's but also looks like you'd spend alot of time brushing yourself off while learning.
Ok, time for an instruction topic! I want!!!indigo_wolf - 12-10-2010 at 12:38 PM
Gannet aka Peter Foulkes currently holds the world speed record for the Kite Bike flying the Method.
If he riding looks wicked stable, there's probably a very good reason

Thanks for posting Popeye.
Very cool stuff. Looks like a crotch rocket with those tires and fenders.
I never rode buggy, but are they bouncy like that hitting the rough stuff?Todd - 12-10-2010 at 02:43 PM
That thing looks comfy gliding along. Maybe Weldngod will be able to break that record next week, what do you think?WELDNGOD - 12-10-2010 at 03:33 PM

I think you missed it while away Rip'?
WG finished off his home brew KiteBike and has a video of himself doin' TWO !
When is the Apexx KiteBike due in? The kitebike looks fun for speed but it must take some special skills to slide to transition or spin 360's!:oWELDNGOD - 12-10-2010 at 06:25 PM
41 mph will take it..... I have only had it out one day so far. But I got the hang of it pretty quik. You deffo need to already have good buggy
skilz.bigkid - 12-10-2010 at 07:04 PM
Looked like small outriggers near the back, How do you know where to set them?WELDNGOD - 12-10-2010 at 07:12 PM
I have been in contact w/ Gannet, and they are skid pads that help w/ turning (it's really problematic on my beach cause it is so narrow) and braking
. Also will protect your seat rigging and siderail pads from major abrasion. I am almost done w/ my removable set.WELDNGOD - 13-10-2010 at 05:45 PM
bigkid, you set em' to where your seat wont contact when you lean. I'll get some pics up on my KYTBYK thread soon,I am still working mine .DAKITEZ - 13-10-2010 at 06:42 PM

doh!!! how did I get signed up for that : arie vs ricardo
im lighter so i can move faster however arie has less b.cells so i could see him going out while I sleep instead.
bring your camera, ruudje its going to be a good show or a quick ticket to the hospital.
i'd like to see Dino try this as well, than maybe he can upgrade from his skirt.
whats the record right now?
what about all the old school guys that use to kitebike, they didnt use GPS than but I knew they nailed down some speeds too.popeyethewelder - 14-10-2010 at 11:20 PM

Hi
Many years ago, i did some speed runs with my kitebike : 65kmph with a 2m nasawing, and 77kmph with my concept'air leader 3m!:wee:
That was with a GPS, but i didn't have a camera and there was no website
referencing top speeds like now...
I have destroyed my kitebike (http://fredy.f191.voila.net/kitebike.html) 4 years ago during a race in the french championship....
But, as I see new pilots, new vids, and official speed record attemps, I think i will build a new one!
I will build something different from the xxracer kitebike... I'm thinking about something lighter with 20" and/or 26" wheels (more like dave's
kitebike) for speed on hard sand.
bye and good wind!
Fredy the french kitebiker ;-)popeyethewelder - 6-12-2010 at 01:05 PM

Fredy, Welcome to PKF!
Looking forward to seeing you back out on the sands with a new build.
