How many landsailers?

pokitetrash - 19-10-2010 at 09:43 AM

So, my weapons of choice will definately be my buggy and a Phantom but I'm planning on bringing 2 Blokarts with me also. I'm hoping Frankiter and I will use them as the beach run narrows between tides. Dunno if that's an issue with big foot tires on the buggy but I'm coming prepared.

How many other dirt boats will be there? Never played on a beach with more than a couple others so I'd love a regatta!

At the spring bash it seemed there were at least 4-5 going most of the time. It was a blast to watch them zooming up and down the beach, but kind of embarassing getting passed by them(all the time!):spin:

edit: you may have already seen this one. http://www.youtube.com/user/ickyrex

That was a great vid and yea, they are a blast. Kind of feel like I'm cheating on my kite buggy though....

I hope there are several with us, but I'll have my 2 for sure any they will be up for grabs to use when were not in them!

I'll be there with the homemade zooter, it's complete but untested as of yet....

I'll have a Manta Windjammer there. A little rough around the edges, but i'm hoping it'll hold up. Still in the process of getting some mods done.

My sister and her husband are gonna be coming and she is wanting to try a landsailer. I told her should could try my Manta, but i'm hoping someone will have a blokart they can let her try as well. We'll have to hook up when she arrives pokite.

Blokarts in Wildwood

frangram - 19-10-2010 at 12:57 PM

There are about 8 -10 other Blokarter coming that I know of. As you saw from Jason's vid we had more than our share of fun.
We can take gusty wind better than the kites. Last fall we were using 3m & 4m sails. If you have a pod , bring it it will help keep you dry. When you run in packs you go anywhere to try to pass that person in front of you.
I hit 38 MPH on the beach in Brigantine the other day. I don't know if the person with me has lost that blokart grin yet, it was only his 2 time on a :smilegrin:blokart.

I will have a parts box with me if any one needs repairs.

Kite Buggy First Choice

But a BloKart is great for the second option.
Jesse and I will have our BolKarts for laid back cruising should we have gusty winds.
I was screaming the total length of the Wildwood Beach Saturday.
It was a super day of high wind excitement.
See you Thursday.
Here's a video of some high wind BloKarting with too big a sail:

I think Blokarts are sort of the moped of the kite buggy world. No real stress, not tiring (unless you ride in the winds like in that video!!) , sort of like a lawn chair ride. I'll always have one or 2. If I get half crippled in old age I can always Blokart if I can still get down into the damn thing. :wee:

anyone interested in a trade of kite stuff for a "good condition, late model Blokart?
i'm not partial to anything(except the dirtboat and stunt kites) in my signature anymore so it's all negotiable.
