Saran wrapped subway riders....
Musicians in their underwear...
Mowing astroturf...
Angels in lingerie...
A scale model of the Concorde blocking a city block while men crawling around in it rigging it with lights
A huge Mickey Mouse watching a bank of monitors on the first floor of the RCN building with and 8-10 foot long remote control on the
table next him.
Good times... good times...

dude, you got to much idle time on your hands. indigo_wolf - 20-10-2010 at 07:22 AM
Insomnia... stream of consciousness browsing (if you have never ended up on a web page and thought "HTF did I get here".... you are a better
man/woman/meerkat than I.)
An old manager actually used to take me out for walks in NYC with her during lunch because she said she liked "looking at the city through my
eyes".... I never really knew how to take that, but eventually chaulked it up as a compliment.

I dunno, I really appreciate seeing something I may have missed otherwise. Thanks very much for that one, Sam. btw I think that song would make a
great kite vid background music. Yay, Atomic Tom!acampbell - 20-10-2010 at 12:58 PM
Rats, video already pulled by Sony Music Policeindigo_wolf - 20-10-2010 at 01:36 PM
There is something ironic about the fact that it was only 2-3 years ago that Sony removed DRM from their MP3 players. Essentially I refused to
purchase them if the pre-supposition was that I was a thief.
I really have a problem with some corporate entity trying to serve as my conscience.
Fixed the link. If the Sony hounds persist, google "Atomic Tom subway".... the video has gone fully viral now, it's quite obvious that the band knows they are being taped, and the notion
that this is not worth millions of dollars of free PR is just more "corporate logic."
Sorry for the rant.... got rear-ended at a stoplight on the way to work.... then found out they didn't need me to drive in anyway.... zen is a little
bit less than perfect.
Arm and shoulder going to be way sore in the morning.

Thanks Sam, for that. Nice piece. I miss NYC for much the same kind of reasons. We were there for a weekend recently and even found a few new gems.
Went to our old hangout, Boat Basin Cafe at 79th and the Hudson. It was our first time there without our beloved dog Chorney, who would sit on a bar
stool between us at the bar eating milk bones (provided by staff) and slurping water while we had beer and wine. He was cute and attracted a lot of
attention, and people would argue with us what kind of dog he was (rescue mutt from the shelter). So I made up the breed "Tyrannean Terrier" and when
I told people that, the confident, worldly New Yorkers would say "Oh yes, I see it in him". Hard to keep a straight face.
Thanks for the flashback.WELDNGOD - 24-10-2010 at 04:57 PM
Sam, why weren't you at Wildwood?indigo_wolf - 25-10-2010 at 03:16 AM
Short answer:
Work is a bit of a meat grinder right now.
Among other things some committments were made to some folks that requires work on my part, but I wasn't told about it until waaaaay after the fact
(i.e. as a result of people asking when the work would be completed.... That's right...work that still hadn't been mentioned to me).
Slightly longer answer:
Special Note:
That's not to say that at least one person wasn't sending out
periodic reminders that I should attend. Was wondering when I would see skywriting or trained penguins rented out from the aquarium.
