19m SA 2 - $1100

dirtysanchez - 21-10-2010 at 02:58 PM

I've had this kite for a year and it's time to let it go , it has several repairs , new zipper . All the repairs were done professionally by Paul from pbkiteboarding. Great kite that has plenty of life left in it . I'll take some pics when i get the time to take it out . Kite is white .

this sounds like a killer deal and AGAIN there is nothing close in light winds..............good luck on your sale

Wow this seems like a steal...why are you selling it?

Lol is there a lay away plan?

PHREERIDER - 26-10-2010 at 07:29 AM

deal!

I was able to ride my core 95 in 6mph or less with mine on Saturday in thick grass. I don't have a wind meter but the wind was barely blowing at all.

Hey Stetson, how's the turning speed on the speed 1.5 17m? Is it good enough for jumping/freestyle?

i can offer my opinion on this question...I have both 1.5 17m Speed and Speed2 19m SA.
Jumping is not part of my forte` but i do try them once in a while.
i've found it much, much easier to jump with the speed2. it's bigger yes but it wasn't the extra power that made the jumps for me it was the timing. i couldn't time the 17m Sp1.5 very well and the 19m is easy to nail the timing.
i got the 17m 1.5 directly from John/Powerzone and he had tuned freshly it for turning speed.
the 19m Sp2 SA was almost brand new and i assume factory settings. i was jumping with it right out the box in less than 4 mp/h.

the 19 SA 2 jumps very well......................take a look a my pics in the kitesurfing folder here on PKF........................10 foot table tops in 10/11mph of wind...................

My son had the 17m and it jumped well too but the 19m is in a league of its own.....................

The lower end for jumping is much less with the SA2. It turns better in the lower winds. The S1.5 turns much slower at the lower wind speeds (7-8 or less). My S1.5 hits a magic point somewhere around 8-10 mph where it starts to turn faster. It has great float and I made my first bunny hops on it on my atb. The S1.5 is a great kite IMO but it is the low turning speed that keeps me from getting good runs or having the right timing with jumping in winds below 8mph. The kite will fly in something around 4mph. You can ride on land with it during a powerstroke but then I can't turn the kite to keep going.

To answer, IMO it is good enough but not in less than 8mph.

Then it becomes a question about price. What can you afford? $300-500 for the S1.5 and 1100-1500 for the SA2 If you can come up with the $ for a SA then I think it is worth it. Like Tridude said, "the 19m is in a league of its own."

i'd really like to pick up a speed 2 or 3 12m on up to the bigger sizes. they are definatly the top of the market and by design. being a full time substitute teacher and skateboarding instructor and the local skatepark doesn't allow me to make enough money to grab one. eventually i hope to have one for the quiver

I'm selling due to wrists problems , doc recommends I take a little break and once all gets well i will probably buy an S3 at some point .
