Soooo tempting, but just a little out of my league. (sniff, sniff)

Tempting is right. Could always get a trainer out but not sure I want to destroy kite, bridle or lines....
erratic winds - 26-10-2010 at 02:47 PM
Been 25-45mph winds here for me for the past two days. water, water, everywhere, not a drop to drink.

Yeah, I'm with you guys. Besides, the smallest kite I own is a 4 meter fixed bridle.

We had that wind a few days ago, along with a lot of rain. The wind left but not the rain.

I actually came home to a better than forecast day. Too bad work was so long and the daylight so short.

We are getting hit by this storm now. 30 knots plus since yesterday, with gusts to 45 forecast today. I fear we might lose some more of our favourite
beaches and spits by the time it's over. Our lake has suffered from high water
levels the last 2 years in particular and pretty much any windy day (20 knots+) and our launches are under the waves. One of our parks (one of our
best wave sites) goes completely under with no access to the launch without 4x4 also means launching in the parking lot. We have lost almost 100 feet
of dunes in the last 10 years at this site.
Another site we need to hike in 3/4km to get to the spit where we once drove into. This trail and the spit may get washed away.
Another spit has turned into an island. We must cross water where the trail used to be.

Here's a shot from a webcam on the lake at 5:20pm. It shows the lot and pier under water and the dock floating above the parking lot. A truck just
drove through the water. I tried to capture the wave blowing over the pier but could not time it (cam refreshes every 30sec). This is just from the
wind pushing the water down from the north part of the lake.

My favorite "stupid" wind kite is a HQ deltahawk on 25m #300 lines.
I can stay upwind on the buggy in anything over 30mph, I have yet to find the top end. A 53mph gust was very a entertaining experience however.:wee:

Wow Zero, a picture says a thousand words!
Reminds me of that Tsunami back in 2004, I think?
