I am stuck here at Palm Springs working on the wind farm all week. The wind here is about 25-30mph right now. Any kiters in this area???!!!! Man ..
I'm itching to borrow a small kite and a buggy :wee:

thrash if you have info on locations in PS please let me know.
The best spot I could find is a set of school fields by that big baseball complex. Field of dreams or something ? Out past Cathedral city. The school
field is fenced but the gate seems always open in behind the shool? I asked some local kids if I would get hassled and they said no? Grounds people
saw me out there and didn't say anything?
The folks that run that off road rental as you come into town own land accross the highway by the drainage canal. They gave me permision to try but it
is rough terrain. Buggy , maybe but not my Coyotes.
There were some districts being developed out by 1,000 Palms that looked like temporary potential ?
It seems like soon the thermals that drive all those windmills will not set up. I was there for 10 days at Christmas last year and only got 1 day of
insane winds.
I was kind of blown away as I drove around . Schools grounds are locked up tight and all sorts of parks have restrictions. NOT a kid friendly town !
And I'm a big KID!
There are some dry lakes within a couple of hours drive. The famous El Mirage is only about 2:15.

I'm not sure where to buggy palm springs is approx 1 hour away, thought van had found a spot??? I do have two buggies but only one kite to pull a
buggy. Don't have a real job that i have to go to everyday. Kind of new to bugging would love to learn more from anyone else willing. Are you in palm
springs also?? might be able to make it out there. I called el mirage friday they tell me its"s going to be closed for at least two more weeks.

I was hoping someone would know also since I do come this way once in a while to work on the wind farms. I just know the wind is crazy right now. It
was blowing 30mph++ all day. I don't see any flat area but plenty of hills. I was told there was a flat area between the wind farms. I will have to
take a look.

Try contacting Steven Sims at (760) 327-4038. He's with Nancy's Wild Rides, they were developing a mountain bike, land sailing and kite buggying park
in Palm Springs. I tried to go to their website, but it's apparently being re-done and doesn't have any info online.

Interesting that they (Nancy's Wild Rides) are using a picture of Bison at sunset beach. Smells funny to me.

I've spoken with Steven several times and he appears legit. He's been to NALSA's event at Ivanpah and plans to be at NABX in 2011.

What a great idea but I question the location?
If they can draw from SanDiego to LA then they have a business plan. I tried to hook up with people in and round PS twice and it was a lonely
expereince!
